I have seen rear window shades in newer BMW and also in the new Toyota
Camry's at my job. I have been unable to find an aftermarket company that would make something to fit our cars. i really like this idea and look since in my state (VA) we have such strick tint laws. Yesterday i parked next to a new 7 series and the car had them on the rear side windows as well!!!!!

I dont' read German. Is that a power sunshade? Or a manual one?

Manual. And I get the impression that the seller doesn't know a whole lot about E34's.

Greg's Alpina B10 has them. Very unique for a US car.

Here is the button for the rear shade:

No US spec E34 has shades. Some E32 have manual rear shades, and a few later E32 750/740/735 have full shades. Unfortunately, those don't fit E34 cars.
Door shades are expensive, hard to find and need specific door panels to work. Everyone in europe wants the door shades. The last set I saw went for around 300 euro on the panels, and around 150 euro for the shades.
The rear shade, manual or power, isn't as hard to find and all US spec cars have the wiring harness connector for the power shade. So if you can find one, it can be installed.
Most rear power shades are black with a black parcel shelf. Last year I bought the only parchment E34 parcel shelf/power shade I've ever seen for sale.
The other thing to remember is that the power shades have a high rate of failure due to weak plastic gears. It's bad if the extension arms can be moved by hand. Metal gears can sometimes be found or fabricated.

Thanks for the info. Where might this wiring harness be found?

Here's the part numbers and diagram for the E34 manual rear shade. It, like the electric one, is incorporated into the rear parcel shelf...so #2 would be needed to replace your OEM (#2 & #4 are definitely needed...plus the hooks/brackets needed to support the roller blind when it's extended): http://bmwfans.info/original/E34/Lim/525i-M50/ECE/L/A/1994/11/mg-51/ill-51_1667/ (wait for the page to load before giving up)

power shades would be so gangster... seriously. Pick someone up, take them to a dark alley and say "we need to talk" while pressing the auto window shade button:devillook
They would go really well with my exterior look, too bad i dont have black interior, maybe black sport seats and a powershade should be my next investment. Put the 4.0 on hold...jk

Just curious. In the pic from Greg's Alpina I see a switch just to the left of the shift knob. Anyone know what that is for? I'd love to have the shades by the way.
