I said not to post it on here. I know whats wrong with the car. I need 02 sensors and I have a small air leak in the engine. Which I'm assuming is my CAI. I'd rather find a place that would do it illegally for me. Email me BZvarich86@gmail.com .

You could just buy an o2 sensor from edge. The price is very negotiable. Plus now a days finding illegal smogs shops are like a needle in a hay stack. You won't find one unless the next person will really trust you.

Yeah I have to go smog my car today for my registration, last time I went to a shop that was just opening and didn't say nothing about my CAI we'll see this time around.:(

a "special" smog test will cost you about the same as fixing your car so why not just fix it? O2 sensor and an air leak is not expensive.

on top gear they said one cow produces more pollution in 1 day than a range rover in a year :eyecrazy

also my mechanic told me the cai shouldnt matter

If you know it's thea CAI, just remove it. Pass the smog test. And reinstall it.

Takes like.. 1 hour?

fix the 02 sensors and take the intake out. Its not that hard... plus your car will probably run better with new 02 sensors.

yup, it will come out cheaper to fix it, an O2 sensor for your car is roughly $130 or so and your cai won't give you a leak that will affect the engine, its before the HFM, so lets see $130 for the O2 sensor, and manually swapping out the CAI(if you decide to do so), or $180 or so to get it passed illegally, more if its a test only, just fix it, plus with the new O2's you'll see better gas mileage!!

Won't replacing the 02 sensor save you money in the long run? It screws up your gas mileage.

And everything they say on Top Gear is clearly true, based on evidence, and well researched before stated. :rolleyes

Seriously man, replace the 02 sensors and slap on your stock intake for a day. Not replacing the 02 sensors will eventually harm your car anyways.

They're going to charge you more ontop of the smog fees then what you'd pay for an 02 sensor.

Clifff Notes:

1. Get O2 sensor fixed because your car's performace will improve
2. Borrow someone's stock airbox

Save yourself money and time AND get a better performing car out of it.
Win-Win-Win Situation, why make it complicated?

Just got back. Got it done and passed with flying colors:buttrock :buttrock ...They just never noticed my CAI;) ;) which was never there, oh and stock equipment:devillook . My dad said the guys at this particular shop were cool (some aquintance of his) and thought "hey I thinks its time to take my dad for a little ride". Well it paid off, although I guess the cost to smog has gone up too. Paid $68 for everything, remember paying something like $45 last time I smogged at another shop. Oh well glad its over.

o2 sensors arent that cheap. I just replaced both- no cel :) but I paid $120 a peice from bavauto, and they dont get much cheaper at other places.

They are SUPER easy to replace though.
