I know this has been discussed a lot, but I am still a bit confused after searching the archives and looking at specs.
I want to pick up some BKR6EIX plugs. Do I get the BKR6EIX or the BKR6EIX-11? The car is a NA '95 M3 with stock coils.
Here's the info I've gathered so far. Clubplug.net cross-references the BKR6EIX-11 as the iridium alternative to the BKR6EQUP and the BKR6EIX as the iridium alternative to the BKR6EK. NGK's website lists the '95 as having a 0.032" OE gap (gap on the BKR6EK).
As far as I can tell, the BKR6EIX has a 0.8mm=0.032" gap and the BKR6EIX-11 has a 1.1mm=0.043" gap.
Can someone tell me which ones I'm supposed to get? Thanks in advance for any help.

I understand that the BKR6EIX-11 has a factory gap of .032. The BKR6EIX are not factory gapped.

I did not gap them at all. I did a search here on the boards and the others who have used them stated that no gapping was necessary. I'm not sure if it is true or not that they have to be gapped, but mine are working fine and I just installed them.
As for the Deftones, I have seen them many times in concert and would love to see them again. :) If any shows are going on locally, we should go check it out. The Deftones are hardcore yet soothing to listen to. My favorite songs are "Bored" and "My Own Summer. Their cover song of the duran duran song, "The Chauffeur" is one of my favorite songs to listen to while driving the M3 in the twisties. :redspot

what a coicidence that this thread came back to life yesterday, since yesterday I installed the plugs. BKR6EIX installed as they came out of the box. Runs like a charm. :D

Don't expect too much if your old plugs are in good condition.
My old plugs were in decent condition (64k miles), but these plugs still made a small difference. The engine just feels smoother, especially at idle. Nothing amazing, but noticeable.

I had the Bosch platinum +4 plugs in my car and they sucked. The NGK Iridiums made a night and day difference, but I installed 24lb injectors at the same time, so I dunno how much the plugs made a differece, but revving the engine is much smoother now.

About a month ago I got some BKR6EIX-11s from Clubplug.net. I used the "NGK Spark Plug Finder" program to pick out these for my '98 328i. But when I got them, I checked the gap before install, and I found it to be 0.044"... which is more than the BMW recommended gap of 0.032". I called the NGK tech support line, and they confirmed that their web-site was in error and the right plugs should be the plain BKR6EIX ones. He also said the difference in the gap was too great to be safely decreased.
They suggested that I got them exchanged from the place I purchased them from. I've already sent them back for an exchange. So if you are going with NGK Iridiums, go for the plain BKR6EIX and NOT the BKR6EIX-11.

I put in new plugs last week, the BKR6QUP's. They're 4 prong and seem to work great so far.

Thank you! Sometimes it is better to wait. I wish I had waited. I have the BKR6EIX-11. The car runs smooth. But again I did notice a drop in apparent torque.

I gapped the BKR6EIX-11s to .032. I have driving the car for about 150 miles. The Initial start-up momentarily raised the idle to almost 1800rpm. After which it settled down (whew). After about 100 miles or so, the car feels good with plenty of torque, more than when the gap was .044. Also, fuel economy appears to be better. The DME is a charm. I will closely monitor the performance. :drummer
