They are alright. They need more pictures of their rims on E38's to see how they look. The pics on the site are garbage

true but what would you want more 20 inch Parallel rims on your car or a picture of them on your screen?

They still look crap to me. I don't understand why no-one is able to produce an exact replica of the M-par in 19"+, and not a wheel that looks roughly like them in that they have two-pronged spokes and thats it.

I'm still dissappointed.

They seem quite different from "real" M-Pars. Copyrights/patents call it what you will.

Besides, I'd rather buy another set of forged rims before going with cast rims. Reason: Mega-pothole infested roads.

they do not look that close to an mpar!

NOT EVEN CLOSE. Wider spokes and weird hub face.

+1

Why is it so hard to replicate original m-pars and make them 19"?

Wow...those have more convex than my rims have concave...

Some outfit named Lakeshore wheels used to make 19" Mpars

There must be copyright issues.
Either that, or the cheaper alloy they use to make replicas has no strength if made in the same exact shape as an M-Par.

Or no one can be bothered to do a good job.

Yeah my buddy Justin has them on his imola red 740. They are decent but I would strip them and reclear them, I feel their clear is a little weak.

You could machine one with a 5-axis mill, but it would cost you a lot of money to draw them up (if you don't own the equipment/software) and a lot of money for the high quality aluminum. Also you need to consider the machining time (probably several hours) and also it would be a two sided job, which requires more work. Basically, I couldn't see a high quality machine shop doing a job like that (4 rims) for less than 3k.

And then it would not be as strong as the OEM MPars which are forged, I believe under pressure as well, this is where they get their strength and weight savings. The OEM Mpars are normally quiet a bit lighter than the repos as well.

because oem is magical, and designing rims is rocket science! :rolleyes

i wouldnt discredit rep's just because they are reps.

Repos are made for mass marketing to take advantage of the popularity of an OEM design. They are not made to duplicate performance - they are not as strong, they will bend earier, they will egg shape easier, etc. etc.

There is a reason a forged wheel costs 4 or 5 times the cost of a cast wheel - it costs more to produce but it is lighter, less un-sprung weight, better performance and it will protect my ass better than a cast repo. If all you want is looks and no performance the repo is fine but don't say there is no difference - I think BBS, Forgeline, Fiske to name a few would disagree.....
