The browardminiclub and bimmerforums were in attendance for a press event that Paramount was holding to highlight the opening of the Italian Job. Above, you will see some video footage of the driving that happened in front of the movie theater for the TV cameras.
Being that we were recording the event for our loyal viewers, we asked the driver if we could get a ride in the car ... he agreed and we got the ride of our life around the parking lot. Awesome driver, he was able to put the car anywhere he wanted with a flick of the steering wheel and a little pull of the EBrake.
Many thanks to Sean (the driver) for showcasing his talents... and not running us over. Awesome job.

I have to disagree with Meow 3. Maybe I'm easy to please but the movie actually exceeded my expectations which were low due to "Marky Mark" being in the starring role and the weak title "The Italian Job".
Really liked the movie, especially the scenes with the minis!

Is that just water on the ground? Can you do that as effectively w/o the water?

Hell yeah man post that video up here and show them some more crazy drifting, 360's, etc then that video. That's not bad, but I can do the same things, but better. Im not trying to brag either and I wish I can post the video of me drifting in an M3, BMW 325i, Mercedes 320E, GMC Suburban, and '02 Honda Civic LX. If I can I'll try and post these up, but I tried to put videos up here before from my camera, but just don't have the right things to use to put on my computer. So post that video m3Jon ASAP I wanna see some more stuff like that, thanks.

You can do that without water, but it takes more speed and you have more traction on the pavement. When they ground is wet you have less traction and can spin the car around much easier and quicker.

The water is used to help save the car...
The stunt guy can do the stunts without the water, but he has to drive faster and it puts more wear on the car. The car would only last half the day as opposed to a full day.

How does it save the car, you have the ability to slide around more and lose control if you don't know what you are doing and can cause lots of damage on your car.
But I agree with you without the water. You can do it without water but have to drive faster and does use more wear on the car.
The car turns quicker and spins out faster than doing it on dry pavement. When wet it does happen faster but also still dangerous if you don't know what you are doing.

I used to drive around a mercury lynx (ford escort copy) and on dry roads, i couldnt spin it. But on wet roads, no problem. But it also depended on the type of asphalt - some easier than others.
I messed my alighnment up in that crap car doing that - thats why I always feared doing that in my M3.

Nice vid. That stuff really isn't that difficult to do. Me and my college buddies used to do that stuff in our cars all the time on dry pavement. We started in a dirt lot and then progressed to parking lots and the street.
I did all those stunts for some guys at work a couple of months ago when I had a rental. It was a crappy lancer.

A weak title!? We're talking about a classically bad 1969 British film here! It's so horrible and yet so good. Seeing that the original had the strangest, faultiest plot (proud British thieves rob Italian bank car to circulate more money into the British economy :dunno) I think they did an amazing job of bringing more life to the movie. The only things that stayed true were that Charlie Crooker was the name of the lead character and that there were three minis.
Plus it had Jason Statham, any movie with Statham in it is good.
