    My new turbo ride

I picked up a 2008 Ninja 250R today. They went through a major redesign and look kinda cool now. The goal is to make some boost and keep some fuel economy, all while having cheap insurance rates compared to a 600/1000/1300. I think I am going to run a haltech standalone and ditch the carb setup. I guess sharing a building with a performance cycle shop is rubbing off on me. Having an in-house bike dyno is also a plus!

I threw it on the dyno as soon as I took it off my truck. The result: 25whp

After the dyno I chopped the undertail and threw on a yoshimura pipe to give it a nicer exhaust note until the turbo goes on. I'm going to redyno tomorrow to see if it picked up some power from the stock corked muffler.

It's a gutless little thing but pretty cool for $3500 MSRP. It should be fun with triple the whp.

No way, the 250 is way cooler! How often do you see a 250, let alone turbo?

Please be careful on that bike and don't give up on the Turbo M3. We all want to see you break into the 8s in that car!

I've had over 30 bikes since I was 10. That said, you can never be too careful!

The M3 is waiting on more parts to get it legal to race.

Funny thing is I was looking at those a couple days ago and loved the new design and price. Then I did a google search and realized there was no turbo kit for them which I thought would be cool for the reasons you posted. I am very interested to see the results.

Congrats on the bike Mike. For some reason the exhaust looks huge on that bike. What do you realistically think you can squeeze out of it (rwhp)?

Did they finally put regular size wheels on it? I think it used to have 18s or something.

    Looks good.

It looks big because it IS big, lol. It was laying around the shop so I modified it to fit. It probably won't have a muffler once the turbo goes on.

75+whp is the goal. It depends on what the stock internals can hold. If I can drop the compression with a thicker HG and make close to what I want than that is the cheap route. If I drop in custom pistons/rods/fasteners, then I'll probably shoot for more.

This must be for marketing....which is great for your business...

But for all the money you could have just bought a bigger CC bike....

but after this hopefully you get some Busas in there to boost up...
Nelson Mandela borrowed this from Marianne Wilson in his 1994 inaugural speech - "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am i to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. You were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within you. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
