Drivers side wiper stops working...

My drivers side wiper stopped working the other day. When I removed the cabin air filter housing (could see the clutch/ brake fluid resevior), I found that the ball & socket joint had separated. I just popped them back together, but I am sure it will happen again. There seemed to be some slack & wear. Can the ball joint be replaced/ repaired?
The whole drive arm is only $10, but there would be lots more work involved... I'd love to find a way to fix just the joint.

drill a whole that goes straight thru the cup and the ball, then install a bolt and a nylock style nut onto it. tighten it up enough to stop the cup coming off the ball but not so tight as to cause any extra friction. i did this as an emergency repair about a year ago and still have not had to replace it yet

the threading / bushing is finished I repaired about 10 of these on other vehicles, the temp repairs are not great as if it starts to rain / snow my friend you are in trouble if it stops working (it happend to me )

go to the wrecking yard or someone who is parting out and purchase the entire wiper linkage. I will give you an estimate for a pos tercel the linkage was 490 dollars at the dealer (worth more then the car) I ripped the part off a scrapped car for 30 dollars.

its a little bit of work to get into the area where it sits, and quick tip if you get it off a car that is sitting for a while, lube the joints (with the covers) with some grease

best of luck
