Hey fellas,
I just bought a 95 M3 a couple of days ago. I want to take it to a mechanic to have him do a thorough inspection. What are some good shops in the Orange County area? Specifically near Huntington Beach. Saw a post earlier about Autowerkes. How good are they? Thanks!

U can go to Bullet Performance in Costa Mesa, off paularino...
or go to Michaelangelo's off Bake Parkway off the 5 freeway. both are great shops. ![]()

Bullet Performance in Costa Mesa recently did some work on my car and I'm very happy with the service there. No experience yet with Michelangelos but I've seen them work and are top notch as well.

I recommend Bullet Performance as well. Ask for Mickey or Ken and tell them Vishal sent you over.

Or you can go to XP Engineering in Orange, CA. Chris Rappas is the owner and he does lots of club races and autocrosses.

never been to the guys listed above, but autowerkes (714-842-2277) is great. they do a lot of M3s (and only bmw/porsche/mercedes, so they are pretty focused)- everything from maintenance to upgrades. they will also pick-up/deliver, as well as give you a ride to/from work. bruce, the owner, is a trojan (undergrad) and is currently getting his mba from sc. if your user name means something else, never mind...
fight on! Last edited by DSK M3/4; 07-27-2001 at 04:33 PM.. |

sc law, 2000. we probably ran into each other at some point. (like at lunch- half the freaking school is in line at la salsa and carl's!) ahh, i miss those warm days on campus with all the little hotties running around in tank tops and skirts.
trojan95M3- you coming out on sunday to the sports car meet? |

Man I missed just hanging out in front of the statue Tommy Trojan and watching all the "tail" walk by! It was truly paradise, then go have lunch at Carl's Jr. or the Commons.
I did sign up for the Sunday meet, but realized... I'm leaving tonight for the Saturday autocross down in San Diego so I'll be there all day then spending time with a girl I know down there! So I'll probably come back up Sunday morning/ early afternoon.I started at USC 1993-1997, then went back home to NYC then came back in 1999 to finish up in 2000 and to live out here permanently. Gio

sorry to hear you won't make it. maybe wheelpower on 8/25? it'll be in your neck of the woods, anyway.
football season starts 9/1! it'll be carson's year! kind of surprised we haven't picked up any flames from the ucla crowd... i guess they're probably spending all their time on the honda boards. ps- autowerkes does nice details too. one of the few people i trust to do that stuff. |

Definitely I'll make WheelPower next meet. I was at the last 2.
It's Carroll's (not Carson) first year and yeah the UCLA guys are at the Honda or Hyundai boards selling Handicapped parking permits! Okay no more before a flame war starts! Gio

DSK,
You got the right car. Do you know anything about it? Maybe some things he didnt tell me about or I havent noticed? Going to the mechanic soon to get a complete check.

turbobmw3- still at autowerkes? that's not like bruce- he likes to get it done and back to the customer. what else are you having done... damn that car must be sweeeeet.
trojan95M3- TSM3 kept raving about how great the car was, needed money for school or something, insurance was killing him. he would have it on ebay, and then the sale would fall through so he would repeat the process. go to the roadfly board: http://forums.roadfly.com/m3/messages/ and do an archive search for TSM3. iirc, he didn't say anything bad about the car (except the cost of insurance ). bruce or whoever will be able to give you a very good idea whether the car is a winner or not. although a little late now, i'd consider having a "pre-purchase inspection" done. that'll tell you whether the maintenance was done, if repairs were done right, what areas look like trouble in the near future, etc. |
