"2 Door Touring" M52 Turbo e30 Hatch Project

No new updates really. Job changes have temporarily prevented major funding for the project. My m50 is going in the chassis seen in post #64 and I will be selling it complete & running to restore an e30 m3 shell to put my m52 w/ GT30r in, hopefully one that has been rear ended with a clean title.

I did make some time to detail the M52 though, lol!

Take another look at that tailgate on the E30 2 door Touring.. then look at the tailgate of the MK1 Golf.. they are VERY VERY similar looking.. one wonders are the dimensions the same? And it looks like the same slant/angle as the original Golf.. the rear window looks like that of a Golf.. Mk1.. take a look am I right?

Hey hey Frog. Been awhile! This project is still on the back burner: way back. Only two things guaranteed before death...taxes and lay-offs in the architectural field lol! Time for a new profession.

LOL!!! In all fairness, aside from the '87 model year electrical problems, that car was typical VW of the time, meaning a very competent FWD car. The Fox had the advantage of being something like 15% lighter than other models and about 25% less expensive. If you wanted a budget project (and you could do crazy stuff with those older VW 1.8s, limitless aftermarket support), it was a good platform to start with.

Wost part about loosing the car was getting rid of the "Free Cascadia" Sticker.

What parts do you need? My M52 is for sale along with all the OBD1 conversion parts, 24v e30 conversion mounts, etc. My '85 318i roller is available as well, I'd rather just give it to anyone that wants the M52 though lol!

From the pic on the first page, that looks like a coupe with the rear window shoved back. As a wagon fan in general, I happen to like the touring body, a lot.

An e30 sedan delivery would be pretty trick.

Your project reminds me of the 1987 Brazilian manufactured VW Gol GTS, and the touring e30 is very similar to it's sister car VW Paratti.

Hi, the brothers Luchjenbroers made four of these vehicles. One they stll have a 323i, a 316i (this one is in Germany), a 320i i believe (this one is with steering wheel right, England) abd a 316 without injection. The white one that's on the picture with the 323i.
