I took some pictures of our final production methanol pieces today. We assembled one of the brackets off the car for production pictures. This bracket installs underneath the bumper and wraps around the fog lights, our intercooler piping and clears the front bumper support. All of the methanol components come pre-mounted to the bracket from us so it can simply be installed and plugged in. Since the factory horns were in the way of our bracket, we created a mounting location for each horn and etched the picture of the horn directly on our polished bracket so they have a perfect location and the horn wires require no extension.
We utilize an FJO modified methanol pump and an FJO methanol fogger. This methanol fogger is unique in that it creates an extremely dense fog by pressurizing the methanol against a wall. This almost instantly vaporizes the methanol providing an extremely cool "high octane" intake charge.
Our methanol system is automatic. No flipping switches or uploading maps is required. When methanol is detected, our system automatically allows the turbo to provide more boost, increases timing to benefit from the higher effective octane, and drops fuel to the injectors to compensate for the methanol fuel creating a very safe A:F ratio.
Everything is plug-n-play. The methanol system plugs directly into our EMS without any cutting or wiring, and the hard parts bolt to factory mounting points.
Here are some pictures of the production methanol tanks. We're just waiting for them to arrive. For testing and early stage 2 customers, we're using standard methanol tanks that can be temporarily mounted and replaced with our new ones when they arrive.
Here's the port on the intake manifold where the methanol is fogged into the intake air stream. To make sure the methanol fogger is screwed into the correct port we've labelled each port directly into the casting. With no bends to the intake runners themselves and the location of the methanol port directly in the center of the airstream closest to the neck, equal distribution to each runner is achieved.
Our methanol kit places the methanol pump and the methanol electronics right in front of the car underneath the front bumper. It also places the "methanol" tank in front of the fire-wall on the drivers side. Keeping methanol out of the cabin of the car was important to us for safety reasons, and the short lines from the tank to the pump and on to the fogger allow methanol to come on and off almost instantly. Here are some pictures of the location of the electronics and pump on a "non-polished" bracket.
Here's a dyno graph of Tommy's M3 on stage 2. It shows all the various boost levels that are achieved with the 4 maps our stage 1&2 kits provide. This also shows how methanol can greatly benefit a high octane boosted motor when low octane fuels are used.

wow such nice work
85' Turbo M50 E30 | 95' M3 Nitrous, Coilovers, DJ Autos, UUC SSK
Nice I only question the effectiveness of nozzle placement to Cyl # 1
Thanks and that's a great question. The methanol fogger we're using is very "unlike" an injector that has a very small spray angle. The fogger we're using (pictured below with our harness) bounces the methanol off itself and directly away in all 360 degrees. This creates a very dense fog that reaches each and every cylinder almost equally (as measured with our individual runner EGT testing).

If the crime rate or divorce rate increases, HPF is to be blamed.
Wow that is hott. I love how everything is done sooo CLEANLY.
Chris, last time I checked HPF has done only one SMG...were you guys ever able to record the SMG in action cause I really want to see how that thing pulls and shifts with the kit.
I am impressed at the detail you've put into all of your products.
Makes my stuff look like poo.

Nice, I love my W/A kit, the 1 gallon tank seems to last forever.
What kind of mixture are you guys using? Straight Methanol or 50/50 water?
I will agree with some of the comments here. The attention to detail and quality you put into your components is impressive. Kudos to you!
Have you been Screwed?
Its so so so so cool!!! Nothing like HPF.. You guys create HISTORY for e46.. HPF FTW!!!

Thanks. So far the wives have loved our customer's turbo'd M3's. As long as you can give her a ride in the car before she files for divorce you stand a much better chance.
Thanks. And we're having fun doing it!Originally Posted by nick4jc

We're using 100% methanol. Yes, it does last a long time. Our methanol tank is also 1.25 gallons, so for most it will last a month or so. We use it for roughly 20% of the fuel when it comes on which allows us to run much more boost that would otherwise be possible on 91 octane pump gas.Originally Posted by Excidium28

Thanks. We've done 4 SMG cars. Alvin, Tommy, Raj and Josh. Raj and Josh's M3's are still here (waiting for their AP exhausts to arrive), so I'll try to get some video footage of those before they leave. Here's a video of Alvin's car (his was the first to get the SMG version).... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWRoN0Sng84Originally Posted by obnoxious2

What psi does the methanol come on?
Wouldn't it be better for cooling to run at least 25% water?
Sorry about the delay in getting everyone their tanks. Here's the mould for the methanol tanks. Now that we've switched suppliers for the plastic injection we should be able to get the finished product very soon.
Here's a picture of the mould.

Freaking sick Chris.
this is nothing short of phenomenal, incredible, truly incredible work.
i don't think any aftermarket company for any car manufacturer comes close for this attention to detail/thorough r&d
you guys should make your own cars
can you imagine the HPF S54 based supercar
