It was fun while it lasted, yes carnage

Well it was only a matter of time this would happen, this engine has been together for 3 years with 40 dyno pulls and 30 trips down the track and numerous trips in the 8500rpm region.
It has wasted modded E39 M5's, Mustangs, SRT8's, and the list goes on.
This engine owes me nothing but great memories, built by me in my garage.
Farewell oh mighty M10 I will miss you so, you died a happy death doing what you did best, putting a smile on my face and leaving other cars scarred for life.
You will be missed but never forgotten.

Ya still going to stick with the new turbo ya got?
Nelson Mandela borrowed this from Marianne Wilson in his 1994 inaugural speech - "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am i to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. You were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within you. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Have to tear it down to see. Happened 2 hours ago about a mile from my house, drove it home with no oil pressure and it died right in it's parking spot.
Most likely the rod failed or a piston pin.

At first it sounded like the tranny because the engine was still running until I looked down and saw no oil pressure on the gauge Then thought gee there must be a hole somewhere

That HX40 will be hanging off an M50
Look at it closer you can see it cracked all around plus another hole to the right, below the starter bolt.
I just checked the other side of the block and it has a 6" vertical crack also but no hole
Have a feeling the cylinder bore shit the bed and ate the piston. Plus driving it a mile with no oil pressure didn't help either.

So uh assuming the forged pistons are in good shape, what do you plan on doing to them?

for an engine that's all stock except forged pistons (and a turbo, duh), that's a pretty impressive list of accomplishments.
