Great job guys. Why do some of you tow the car to the track though?

We go to the track to push the limits and somtimes that results in broken parts.I hear you can break
stuff when you take it to the edge.

Because some of them have driven 100's of miles to get there and dont want to risk their car breaking at the track and being stuck there...

To the camereman - fantastic camera work guys....no shaky arm syndrome and nice clear view of cars, strip and times

to the cars - great work guys. Some great times there..

    1. Cars not street legal in racingt trim (slicks, skinnies, C26 fuel, etc)
    2. A long way to drive a hot car (cars not suited to long distance driving in race rim)
    3. If you break something then it's a pain in the arse to get home
    4. You can relax on the way home
    5. Place to keep tools, extra rubber, fuel, etc

jasper, those pics of you wrinkling the slicks are amazing!!!!!! You need to make one of them a signature pic! You EASILY have one of the cleanest looking, most desirable e36's out there.

Are you at all disappointed with a 116mph trap and 516rwhp? Dont you think it should be about 10 mph higher? I dont mean to keep hanging on it but I just think the dyno numbers dont match the track performance... Oh well, I am glad to see that you are enjoying the car, that is what matters most. Congrats on the 11's!

With street tires on, I have trapped at 120 mph on the rev limiter in 4th gear. Due to the drag radials size, I fall out of my sweet spot where the car is making good power. If I were to change my rear end out, there is no question that I could improve the trap with the drag radials on.

I will take the car to Englishtown on a nice cool night before it closes for the year. That should be a good indicator of how much power it is actually making. I know that the car made 516rwhp on a 70 degree day when Nick tuned it. Changes have been made to the software, so it is possible that I have lost some power. Maybe I'll throw it on the dyno one last time to see what she makes in current trim.

I'm actually curious myself to see how much power I am truly making. Hopefully, I can throw her on the dyno and then right after head right out to E-town to see how she traps.

I tried setting it up once, but they are very strict and very, very expensive. Try setting it up, if you are able to get it to work out...I will definitely be there!

That's true. Think of it this way, at the start of a 1/4 mile run the spoiler is not working, you are going too slow to make any downforce. Later in the run you don't need it, you're already hooked up and while it's making downforce that you don't need, it is costing you time through drag. It also costs you weight, though not much of course. Top fuel dragsters need to hook up longer so they use a big ass spoiler.
On a road course you are spending a lot of time in corners at over 80mph and you will be able to use that downforce to keep the rear end planted and you may have excess power so you're not losing time to drag. You do lose time to drag on the straights, it's a trade-off.

My car has rolled fenders and some hammering to the wheel tubs inside. The fenders are otherwise untouched. The tires are extremely tight in the stock wells and rub a little bit.
