BMW Have Blown Midrange Speakers (Crackling or Buzzing Sound)? Not Happy with Sound Quality? Now there's a Solution.

In most of their late-model vehicles, BMW used a 3 way speaker setup in the front of the vehicles. This includes a tweeter, midrange speaker, and midbass driver. In many vehicles, the same midrange was also used in the rear doors or side panels of the vehicle, too.
Unfortunately, BMW wasn't kind enough to use durable, high quality midranges. After a few years of use, these midrange speakers tend to blow, meaning you get awful buzzing and crackling for almost ANY type of music. Why? The midranges are responsible for playing things like voices, guitar notes, and other similar sounds. Because these are so prevalent in music, a blown midrange is a disaster!
Not only that, but due to their poor quality, most BMW factory midranges simply don't sound that great even if they aren't blown. They're muted and fuzzy sounding, so you don't get to experience the full richness of your music even if your other speakers are upgraded!

Sweet. I want two sets.

Do you have a complete component set for E32/E34 cars? Use factory crossovers or ?

Is this the speaker in the kick panel or in the dash? Do you have a full kit or just this one speaker?

This is the dash mounted "midrange" speaker. Just this speaker pair for right now.

This is the dash mounted midrange. However if the local person above wants to bring his car to BSW in an hour we could figure out if the tweeter upgrade is possible also

Do the midrange and tweeter.

For now though this is only a midrange and will make a noticeable difference!

+1 I have to fix the clutch and a couple of other small things first but I would like to upgrade the entire sound system (front and rear) in my touring not just the cd player and adding subs.

Well...

Can you remove the front midbass speaker and tell me the size and get the impedance?

99% Sure it is a 5.25" but need to know the impedance.

Well done Halston.

How many watts does your upgrade handle? (mine are at 40w RMS now)

How is the tonality? Are they as "bright" or a little more neutral sounding?

Great that more companies are making upgrades for the e34.

Maybe these will be a christmas present to myself.

I could bring my car by to look at the tweeters. I am definitely in on the midranges. Matter of fact, if I did bring my car by I would be interested in having you guys install my 5 channel and all new components (including your mids/tweeters). Can you PM me with an estimate on price for something like that?

Yes. If someone in Atlanta can bring me an e34 then we can test the tweeters for fitment

Midrange was designed in house and built in Chicago.

Midbass and tweeters are designed and built in Germany

50-75W RMS but if you are amping then we won't use the midrange. It simply is designed as an OEM replacement. It could take ~30w RMS

They are much more natural sounding. Very Rich and Smooth

Shoot me a PM to work out a time please Unfortunately we currently do not do installations but I know of a few shops that do or a good personal friend who could easily knock it out for cheap

Shoot me a PM

So are you planning on doing a full E34 replacement set, or just these? My rear right speaker is blown, and rather than just do an OEM replace, something better would be a nice option.

When I get a PM from the local person I want to have the car for 1 or 2 days and we are going to test the whole thing.

I know we have midranges and front midbass. I think we have a full system.

First person gets a free stage 1
