    The part number for pre 2001 e39 adjuster elements is: 63 12 0 027 924

you need one part number per headlight.

Those with 2001+ e39 hella headlights with broken adjusters need these adjusters I am offering or an entire headlight.

gonna sticky this for a week or so- probably count heads for a week and place the order. I figured there may not be 10 interested but I can still do 125 shipped if we don't quite have 10 guys.

But can they be found anywhere besides OEM places? I want something stronger...I don't want to keep spending $30 a pair if they keep on breaking time and time again...

the oem adjusters for the pre-2001 headlights should last a long time and to my knowledge there is not metal solution available. I will ask the supplier of these if they are available.

Thank you. I bought the car with broken adjusters and I was under the impression that they were as flimsy as 01+, but I'll take your word for it and order some OEM ones from Bav Auto.

    Thanks e39dream!

You can find a write up here:
    http://www.odometergears.com/subpage...dlight_FAQ.pdf

note the more expensive plastic parts are pictured. this author of this write up used the odometer gears plastic adjusters but the process is almost identical with these aluminum adjusters. I did my homework on these 2 options and the aluminum is a better material at a better price- the choice was simple.

    got it, thank you Duck.

I need just 3 more buyers to send payment and I can place the order, not bad since I just officially started taking payment yesterday.

I will have 2 sets (2 cars worth) of adjusters on top of what you guys ordered to cover any late comers, and get my money back.

If you are seeking a real repair solution for your 2001-2003 e39 headlights now is the time. You won't find a better deal on earth.

The only thing that differs from that write up is the part where he's using a drill/driver to start/carve the threads. This step is absolutely not required with the aluminum adjusters, the threads are perfect from the factory and thread right on without binding. If anyone has trouble installing I will be glad to help via email or phone. Again, these are the best solution you can buy.

For the heating process I borrowed the trusty family hairdryer- worked fine. Also I found it easiest to start opening the lights near the high beams and work over towards the turn signals.

I'm already covering a couple slots on this- if no one else buys before friday I will place the order and cover 3 sets. The group buy will go as planned.

Mark you're a great guy and I mean it. Once you have everything, I was reading the pdf on how to replace etc, etc. could you please do an update on it? Somewhere at the beginning I think you mentioned it applies to the pre 2001 models and that for the later models it's more difficult. Mine is a 2003 (don't need the adjusters now, but I just want to act proactive), what would be different from the DIY posted? And where to look out for boo-boo's?

    Thanks again,

    Dorin

That guy asking for pre -2001 adjusters added some confusion to the thread- the .pdf file covers all headlights from 2001+.

From 2001 on all headlights are the same and the pdf tutorial applies to them all and covers the little tricks you need to get inside the lights. The only part that differs is the adjusters I give you are pre-threaded and DO NOT require you put them on with a drill.

If I had taken more pics I would make my own write up.

no problem- if anything comes up during your install you can feel free to call me, email or PM me.

As of this writing I've had another buyer send payment and I have just 1 set left for sale during this group buy.

If there is enough interest we can do another group buy in the future. Just let me know.

    Mark
