    went to the 1/4mi. vids inside

    well, my first time at the 1/4mi with the bimmer. Had a good time and def have some work to do.

    i was running my car on low boost 12.5psi do to mbc issues. But i still manage to muster up a decent time. I need slicks do to traction issues. All in all a good day. I even managed to crack my exhaust mani again for the 4th time. good stuff.

    this slip is from my final/best run.

    1rst run i was easing it outta the hole to get a feeling for the track. I managed a 12.2 @120

    3rd run was a disaster, i totally missed 2nd gear but still managed to chase down the chevelle for the win. 12.3 @ 120

    I definately have some work to do High boost in the 17-18psi range should be interesting.

    ssautocrap mani (cracked again 4th time)

    3.91 lsd

    about sums it up. I dont know my current power numbers. I guess it would be nice to know, but 1/4mi times say enough. dragstrip is my dyno.

    Forgive my noobitude, do you have an intercooler as well ? megasquirt involves some custom tuning ?

    Yes.
    Any turbo car worth it's salt has an intercooler.
    Especially if its running 11 second passes

    yep, ebay 3in intercooler plus my own personal tune. I need to do something about my manifold. i keep repairing it hoping it will last but this time it literally cracked within a day. The car might have to come off the road till i come up with a solution. If theres anything i cant stand its an exhaust leak.

    cant really expect too much from it with all the known problems with it and it was only like 100 bucks or something no???

    wow so you must know your stuff pretty well to do your own tuning.

    sucks about the weak manifold. Replacing it by a stronger one will require redoing some plumbing I imagine if it's not the exact same design ?

    Can some version of the MS code read the crank wheel of some version of these Bimmers, or are you stuck choosing between fuel only or EDIS type add ons?

    I'm a Neon guy, and therefore I only know about setups where the MS reads the crank wheel, so I apologize in advance for any incorrectness in my question!

    You running a SC6152 or a SC6176? If it's a 52 with an S cover, you're running almost exactly the setup I had in mind. I guess I don't have to build it, I can just experience it vicariously through you!

    Get a AA used manifold, or something like that.

    yep, new mani=new dp=new hotside intercooler piping. dont realy feel like doing that now. Was trying to make it till winter. apparently not.

    tuning isnt hard as long as you take your time ans make tiny changes and lotsa logging. Any monkey can tune given the right tools.

    im running the sc6176 with ported 4in S cover. As far as the MS questions go, im not sure. Urinemachine can answer that stuff. I didnt have the time to build my own so he built it for me.


    I guess ill troll the classified section for a used many, but it doesnt mean ill be able to install it anytime soon.

    Talk about a stud! Man you put together a turbo setup with ebay parts and such, do your own tune, no dyno and just take her to the strip busting an 11.8 on low boost!
