The official 5er Festivus Thread - Fort Lee, NJ

Before I get down to the nitty gritty I would like to thank everyone for showing up today and making the day as laid back as it was, I couldn't have thought of a better way to kick back before I start school again.

HUGE THANKS to Dan, Martin, and Wayne for setting this up on such short notice. I look forward to making this trip more often and really look forward to getting the ball on the next meet going. It was cool meeting everyone and I enjoyed putting faces to names (I will forget most of them before next meet - don't take it personally).

Now, onto the good stuff: the pictures did not come out nearly as good as I would have liked, the combination of direct sunlight while we were parked and me not having my camera at the right setting when we were moving kinda f*cked everything up. Either way, I 100% guarantee a better outcome at the next meet (just for the record I was NOT filming, so the majority of you made taking pictures even harder, haha).

Pictures (click pic for full folder):

Sorry again about the graininess, I was running way to low of an fstop against a very high shutter speed, but couldn't really take the time to adjust my camera properly either.

Feel free to use this thread to post your pictures guys. I can also host pics if you want so you don't have to upload one by one, PM me for details.

-Olek
(Mark if you want to merge any related threads thats fine)

Wayne it was good to see you make it out, I thought we were all gonna end up driving to your shop just to drag you out.

Dan, it was good to finally get to hang out, sorry if that was beer you dropped while you were on the phone with me.

Martin, thanks for destroying my bank account by showing me all your cool toys. I should of never gotten into your car.

Andre, thanks for answering all my questions and hookin me up with the black outs.

Nice meeting all the BK, BX, Queens, and LI guys as well. I left today with tons of stories and fun memories.

*watch out for bimmerfiver guys - don't ask why - just watch out*

It was a superb meet. It was my first and it was amazing to see how cool the guys on this forum really are. Now because of this meet Im going to have to take out a second mortgage and redo everything on my car.....scumbags!!!

Some of these people are real dedicated and it was good to see how much you guys really do enjoy your cars.

Now I'm off to calculate how much some of these toys are going to cost....

CHEERS!

Great pics! Never saw a purple(ish) E39 before... what's that color called? Also, the hood on the car with the euro tag B KV yada yada is awesome! Anyone know where he picked that up?

The purplish color is aubergine *SP* and one of my goals at this meet was to take pictures showing how kick ass this color actually is. I never gave it the credit it deserved.

One of my other goals was to really capture how f*ckin crazy AndreNY's car was in person (he is the one with the custom hood). Pictures don't do that car justice, but I sure tried!

The hood is a custom Boser. He took the stock hood and welded a metal piece on to extend it. It looks like a factory finish. His username is AndreNY if you have any more q's.

Yea all of you guys are more then welcome. I was going to make a thread soon telling you all to cruise up for the Bav Auto show and shine in NH. There is never a big enough 5er presence there.

We could detail the cars at my house with the help of Kieth and cruise up. That isn't until October though so lets get this sept. 15th meet crackin Martin! Pleasure meeting you as well.

Pen me in for the BavAuto Show. I'm a fan of BavAuto, Andy Lund has always taken care of me and my car; I've heard about this show and would really enjoy the time up there. I'll bring my clay, Dewalt, pads and Menzerna. I can do some E39's in NJ at Dan's leading up to it, then do some work up North too. I have to do Omar's and Gumbi's paint; Gumbi is locked in on do a 'Cop's Mod' to his car with LEDS/Lights etc, yet his paint feels like indoor/outdoor carpeting. And Omar's paint has more crap smeared onto it than cocaine up Rick James' nose.

I only have one request, I need a moment to hop out on the Mass Pike so I can take a leak on the road, in the direction of Fenway.

I'm definitely going to get working on show and shine details soon. I didn't think the interest was there.

Meet was awesome, I really realy enjoyed 3 parts: when I got there first, when I finally got done with my car and while the speedy runs on the highway. I was staying closer to the back, tryin to see the surprised faces of people that have just witnessed 10+ 5ers fly by them . Also it was funny watching some cars on the road (red W203 C class and a newer X5 4.8iS) struggling to get thru ur convoy ha ha Thanks to everyone, and in my case especially to Dan (organization, food, etc.), our passive driver bimmerfiver for disclosing me the ways of detailing in such a strict but an effective method , and thanks to gumbi for getting me on NJTP and the europlate holder idk bout NH yet, but if anything is ever happening in/around NYC count me in

And Olek, great pix, thanks!!!
