I couldn't believe it either, but it seems like BMW has another "surprise" for us, an X4 crossover. Personally, I hate it, but we'll see how it will play with the BMW fans.

Yes, another X model from BMW is in the works, this time the BMW X4. It certainly seems like BMW is going after the crossover market, trying to compete with the models launched by BMW and Audi.

There were some shots of the "X3" mule on StraightLine sometime back. From the discussion, it seems to be a 3-series wagon that they've widebodied to turn it into an engine +/- transmission +/- suspension mule for the upcoming X_. I would post a link but I don't have enough posts yet...

Wait a second. I'm not sure where I read it... but either the X6 or if there is an X7 will have a 3rd row. I'll try to dig it up and hopefully my memory is right.

i believe that is your new x6. the new e70 x5 has third row seating but it would be hard for adults to fit back there.

Bingo. The new X5 was the one with the 3rd row, makes sense now.

Then they would'nt be profitable. Like it or not, they have to make SUV's to survive and then make great cars. Making niche cars like the M-series, z4's,135's , etc won't keep BMW afloat.
