Umnitza M5 Bumper Install Tips Needed

I'm planning on installing my new M5 bumper tomorrow. I have it painted, and I have the fogs and the adapter cables for the fogs.

Wondering if there are any other parts I need.

Are there any tips or tricks for getting it to fit correctly?

    Thanks all!

bump, I assume then that nothing extra is needed and that this is a super easy install.

Will take pics and hope it all goes ok.

I'll be doing this on my own 530, so I'll report if I run into any hitches myself with some tips.

Just finished the install, took me about 3.

    Things you need:

    1. T50 torx for the main bumper bolts
    2. radial clips (i think that is what it is called) for attaching the mesh to the bumper. I just used 2 zap straps, I'll see how that goes. You can't see them because they are at the top of the mesh.

    Broblems I had
    1. I have to different fog light adapters from Umnitza, one works, one does not. One has a single groove and one has two grooves, the one with two grooves will not slid into the fog light socket. my dremel will fix this, but maybe umnitza will send me a replacement?

    2. Fitment. It fits pretty well, but at the very corners by the wheels, it sticks out about a 1/3" and it does not line up with the fender. I know on the oem bumper you can adjust this a bit, but I can not figure out how to do it on this bumper. Any tips?

    3. I scratched it

i got the same bumper from umnitza and i had it install at professional bodyshop and it's not 100% flush with the fender you can try to adjust the bracket at where the bumper slides but i dont know if that will help i already try and took my car back to the bodyshop and still does not flush 100% i see a lot of people with after market m5 bumpers with the same issue.but it does not bother me anymore.

That blows man. I finally decided to go with the m5 bumpers and buy them from umnitza and now this crap about not sitting flush comes up. I cant win lol. Sometimes no matter what the price, OEM is the way to go. Can you guys take pics of how off it is?

    Here are the pics

I new it would not be perfect, but for the price I'm ok with not perfect, but this is a bit more out than I thought it would be.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. All I had.

Dang, I was thinking of getting one of these but now I'm not sure. My front bumper is kinda messed up, but $400+ to get a bumper that doesn't fit well..... hmm. I guess I'll have to think more about it.

I've seen OEM bumpers with far more uneven fit than that.

Which leads me to believe that it can easily be adjusted more tightly.

See I knew there was a way, and yes Umnitza, I think that you are right that it can be adjusted, the rest of the fit on this bumper was really good.

e39dream, is the part that kaptom posted in his pic the part you are talking about?

Will you send me a replacement adapter for my lights since one of the ones you sent does not fit into the fog light socket?

Thats true. Im thinking of getting it painted and installed by the same person. He has worked on TONS of Bimmers. He's in Rahway. Guys name is Bogdan, cant speak much english but he does good work.

Cause if you think about it, Dan's not going to paint it, so when I do get it sprayed, I will have to lug it over and probably scratch it in the process.

Options are open though, Im just waiting for Umnitza to post some pics.

the picture that Kaptom540 has i already try that and and my bodyshop too. it only adjust the hight of the bumper and fender you can push you'r bumper close to you'r fender, but will not flush 100% with you'r bumper or corner edges. is what you pay is what you get "like me" don't get me wrong the bumper is very good quality almost like oem.but is after market if you get it perfect post some pictures a like to see so i can try to do mine too.

yeah, min is the same, up down is pretty much ok, but the corner sticks out past the upper bumper, it is actually buggin me more the more I think about it. If anyone has any tips on how to move it in that would be much appreciated.

i know, it's short a bit but you will get used to it i did after 1 week i don't think that you can push the bumper more so it can flush with fender. it's not bad at all i seen worse, so how can i post pictures?

I guess no one can really tell its off that much but the person who owns the car. no body is going around and checking the bumper seams for kicks. But its the self paranoia that kills one self.
