This should look pretty awesome. Why didn't you do a 2JZ I have to ask though?

I'd imagine it having something to do with a 1JZ being ~1.5k and the 2JZ being two to four times that.

it was cost. 1jzgte and manual tranny=1900.00 cnd
    the 2jzgte and 6 speed=6800.00

after i bought the 1jz i heard you could put the r154 onto the 2jz.
the jdm 2jz cost around 2000. then get the r154 for another 1000.
also the 1jz in stock can put down 300rwhp@15 psi. not too far off the 2jz.

I was going to do this conversion last December however i bought a Eclipse GSX before I bought the engine so i had no money after I bought the car. However, i still want to do this swap but I would like to know the detail on how you done the swap and how you done the wiring. But of course you will need to get done with the wiring and work out the bugs of the swap. But definatly keep me posted on this one i would love to see how it turns out.

    Thanks Justin

Here we go. This is the engine to get 1000hp by adding just bolt-ons.

You can do a 2JZ bottom end with the 1JZ ... i think thats much cheaper than buying a 2jz... 2jz is just that its 3.0L and the 6 speed trans which made it expensive.. thats what the experts told me here... Im also gonna do a 1JZ conversion into my E30 next week but i dunno if its a perfect fit or i need to cut some parts of the chassis

Well i'm going to use the bmw ecu to control everything but the engine. The toyota ecu was wired up to a 12v and ignition/12v deticated. Then wire up the engine to the 12v through ih1 #14. (toyota wire harness)
The starter is through ih1 #10 using the stock starter wire from bmw harness. very easy.

after fighting with not getting spark, i tested the toyota ecu. It's dead. no juice going through it. So now my megasquirt is in the mail, i'll need a bigger rad, picking up a junker 3.8 ford rad fan this weekend. and mount my 24x12x3 intercooler and pipes.

speedo= i dunno. rear diff? going through stock bmw ecu
    engine year= i dunno, 90-92 1jzgte

Hotshot2109-- swap that engine into that bimmer. half the price of an m3 e36 and faster. e36 should be around 3200lbs or less.

i'm done building the basic megasquirt but i still have to build the lm1815 chip in the proto area.. Then i have to figure out how to wire up the stock ignitor with a 5v pullup. This is the scary part to far as i don't want to run wasted spark.
