1991 - 1999 (E36) (1991 - 1999) The first modern 3 Series, the E36, was the model that paved the way for the 3 Series to be named "Car of the Year" every year since the model was driving off showroom floors. Radically redesigned in 1992, the E36 was not the same 3 Series as the E21 and E30. Larger, less boxy in design, and equipped with a dual overhead cam engine, multilink rear suspension, and a more finished interior, the E36 balances sport with luxury.

How much do you love your BMW?

I was humming, and I mean HUMMING down the turnpike with the 02 (5000+ RPM) trying to get to school on time, and apparently a contractor threw some doughnuts at my car. One bounced off the peak of the hood near the roundel, and a few hit my battering ramish bumper. I was like "holy bicentennial quarters batman!" (G rated) but then realised it was doughnuts hitting my windshield (non glazed and non powdered) and simply laughed to myself while opening the individual throttles to 34+ mm each and blasting past the doughnut debris scene at 5200+ RPM.

Enough that I refuse to accept that it's merely a DD that I happen to autocross, and continue to do "maintenance" work on it that is predominantly unnecessary.

In the case of my 318, when I get behind the wheel of a BMW, everything seems frustratingly slow.

Was tailgating last weekend and walked off. When I came back some guys nearby were drinking beer and one sat his ass on my trunk. So, I hit the alarm and he jumped off.

...then I went home and examined the offending butt-print in sunlight before cleaning it with some quik detailer

Really. Little metal things on your jeans can tear up a paint job!

I love it enough to save every penny I make, and not spend a single dollar on myself, but not hesitate to buy thousands of dollars of new parts for my car. I dread when people ride in her because i know they will get her dirty, and then the first thing after they get out she gets cleaned.

Well let's see how my BMW compares to my wife:

BMW likes it when I show up with gas

Wife, not so much

BMW thinks I'm a good singer

Wife, not so much

BMW thinks I shoulda punched the shit outta that guy that cut us off

Wife snarls at me to quit acting immature

BMW loves it when I give her a bath every day

Wife would think I was out of my effing mind if I tried something like that on her

BMW makes hot chicks look at me

Wife, not so much

So as you can see, it's a close tie but I gotta give the edge to... my wife

I love my BMW enough to realize that it's just a car.

And the paint jobs on these cars. My fiancee's white gold ring has left a considerable number of gray marks on my trunk above the roundel. I was like, "fuck bitch, what the fuck?!?!?!?!?!", then I kicked her in the head for daring to mess up the 14 year old paint on my uber, ultima-shizzle E36. Actually, I told her not to worry about it because the marks will all buff out. Most of the smaller ones came off with firm pressure from the microfiber mitt during the last washing. The ones that don't buff out, will only require a paint pen to remedy. No reason to get bent out of shape over small shit.

How much do I love my BMW?

Enough that I refused to buy a house that didn't have a garage!

That's a tough/pricey task here in NoVa!!!
