7 Series (E23, E32, E38, E65, E66) The flagship BMW 7 Series has sparked the imagination with idea that luxury does not have to come at the sacrifice of performance since its birth in 1977. Well appointed with thick leather, wood trim, and more gadgets than Bond could shake a stick at, the 7 Series is the epitome of a luxury cruiser, and a fast, well handling one at that.

Thumbs up DFW7 - Dallas / Fort Worth 5/19 Meet Summary & Lots of PICS

We had a great time yesterday, 5/19/07. Buck Clifford drove all the way from Colorado to visit us. Though weather did not cooperate and rained when cars began to arrive; we still had a good turnout. In all, 19 BMWs showed up, 16 E38, 1 E39, 1 E36 (M3, Bill chose to drive this instead of his E38) and an E46. Three of the E38 came after the Pics and the E46 was too shy to line up with us.

We hung-out at the parking lot, checked out each others rides and chatted briefly; but had to go into Bone Daddy’s at 10:45 AM instead of 11:30 due to the rain. Our lovely waitress, Victoria (and I wonder if she has a Secret ) was wonderful. She along with the rest of the BD girls took excellent care of us. The food was delicious and many participants came away with prizes donated by Euro Connection (T Shirts, BMW engine oil) and certain DFW7 dude (complete car care kit, Dent King, car accessory bags). Victoria helped us select the lucky winner of the grand prize, and as luck would have it, our out of town guest Buck was the winner. As in the past, helpful information were exchanged during the meet and new members were warmly welcomed and became part of our family.

The Lone Star Chapter BMWCCA had their annual SHOW “N” SHINE at Papa’s BBQ going on at the same time. Some of us decided to have a group cruise to check out the meet. With Michael aka lurcher leading the way, we behaved and stay in formation; unlike the Kamikaze group cruise we did back in 2002. We did catch the tail-end of their meet; new friends were made and we had a good discussion with local CCA officers and agreed possible assistance with the 2007 Oktoberfest to be held here in Fort Worth, Texas. Trent Cole of Lone Star Bavarian assisted DFW7 members in reprogramming our key/door lock preference and diagnosed couple cars.

Without any further delay, below are the Pics from yesterdays meet.

DFW7 - Dallas Fort Worth 7 Series Club

*Update: Buck Clifford was involved in an accident on the way home from Dallas to Colorado. Glad to report that he is perfectly fine and his 750iL is able to make good speed home. I held off posting this DFW7 post meet summary until we know for sure Buck is well and making good speed home.*

Buck Clifford's '99 750iL

David McBee's pristine Imola Red '01 Dinan Stage 5 w/ 13K miles only

Michael aka "lurcher" was not happy that Victoria was not taking care of him

Now he "lucher" is a happy camper

Buck won the grand prize.... a complete car care kit.

Victoria was the best, she was running around making sure all were cared for.

From left to right, lurcher, Buck, JL, never mind, just focus on the beautiful BD staff

Some of us went on a Group Cruise to LSCBMWCCA's SHOW "N" SHINE meet.

Safely arrived at Papa's BBQ for CCA's meet.

My new M6 OEM forged wheels

Current LSCBMWCCA President Will Atkinson (left) chatting with Trent Cole

Will's M3

We find out what Will uses to power his M3.

Trent Cole of Lone Star Bavarian performed courtesy diagnosis and reprogram

Wow! Great turnout. Looks like the DFW7s have done some pretty cool mods to their cars. James, you did a great job setting this meet up & deciding to join up with the Texas BMWCCA meet. Also, having the vendor support was a great idea. Well done.

PS - Your new M6 wheels look great!

Are these 19" wheels?

Did you lower your car at all after you put them on?

I'm seriously thinking of buying these. I have a buddy who has an M6 and he would sell me his OEM wheels because he got after-market wheels put on as soon as he bought the car.

Sorry, I didn't realize that you had it in your signature.

How low did you go? It looks really nice, by the way.

Impressive

I am so jealous of the Texas fellas. What a strong showing. Nice Cars, Beauty Girls, what more can a guy ask for. That was and is a beautiful thing. Keep it up.

Thanks plik. Don't hold me to this, but I believe Eibach only has one for our E38 unlike H&R. And the drop is 1.3" front & rear, you can find Eibach at Tirerack among many other places.

Beautiful cars...

Thanks for the referral JL...I was the guy who handed you your food at McD's :p.

I looked down for a second and saw the M6 wheels and I was like I must be seeing things, so I did a double take and sure enough they were M6 wheels!

First time I've seen those on a 7, and they look great that's for sure. Nice to see a clean and tastefully modded BMW, they're too rare .

Nice meeting you, take care.

You guys still hang out? I'm more of a Nissan guy when it comes to aftermarket stuff but I got an '02 745i as a daily driver and if you're hanging out keep me in the loop. I did send a request at the DFW7 website but haven't heard back yet.

Any cruises in the near future? I think I'm heading down to Louisiana for some gambling when my dad and grandpa come to town.
