I want to show you all this picture of a MAF conversion I developed for the M20. It's currently running on a few M20B32's and I'm going to finish development for the stock m20b25 soon. It comes with a special performance chip to handle the MAF. Part throttle response is much better, and WOT power is greatly improved also. This conversion does not require any cutting of the wiring harness.

Two Canadian companies making MAF conversions?
The world is ending I tell you!
Any word on price? Any dyno sheets?
Looks good. Looking forward to seeing some data on the swap. Also Mark, I asked in another thread some time ago, but will you be having the chip for the 2.7 high compression stroker available in June as stated on your site?
How will the maf kit fit into that kind of scenario?
Thanks.
I have an idea on the price, but still have to take it to the dyno. I had planned to make a MAF conversion for this over 5 years ago (actually around 1997) but was busy with other work. When I do get the dyno sheet, it will show you max power but won't be able to show you the difference in throttle response. On a Metric Mechnic 3.2l m20, ypou can put it in 4th gear at 1200 rpm and drive effortlessly. I worked on this when I visited them in April. I have to finalise the software for the stock motor before this is ready for release.
The MAF is expensive. The price with chip and all parts required to install it in about 30 minutes is planned to be around $700.
Are you asking about an M20 with 10.2:1 CR , 19# injectors and 282 or 284 cams? That one is complete and I've sold few, it's working well.
I better update my site.
I can make the MAF conversion for that also, but the chip for each configuration will need some tuning and testing.
what about for the eta motors? It work on them too?

Mark,
how are the MAF kits going? What sort of gains did you see across the rev range on the m20b32 you developed the system on?
this may sound REALLY dumb, but what is an maf?
Mass Air Flow
well that makes sense, ignore what I said
Any chance you will offer a trade-up program, for owners of current MarkD chips?
Say we want the MAF setup, we purchase it at an adjusted price, and return the old chip to you? Or maybe even have us send our chip out to you to be remapped and you send it back with the MAF. Just a thought.
I would certainly be in on one of these, whats the expected release date/price/etc?

I had planned to have it ready for mid-June but have been busy with some FI work.
One of the driving instructors in the St Louis chapter of BMWCCA had his car with this system out on the track last weekend during the driving school and it raised a few eyebrows.
I'll post here when the production version is ready. I'd guess that it's at least 5 weeks away, if I get enough time to work on it soon.
Mark
5 weeks...damn...I guess we'll all just hold our breath until then...j/k. Good luck with final development, hopefully you can get these together for the end of the summer.
