Another e39 down...crash photos (56K=NO)

so I totaled the 530 this past thursday morning about 4am while driving down the highway. not a fun time. Im pretty sure a rear tire blew out which made the car swerve to the right, and I didnt have time to correct it before it was already on the wet grass so it just slid sideways down into a bunch of trees. broke off one tree at the base that was 1.5ft thick. crazy stuff.

after it came to a stop I couldnt find my cell phone, wallet, or sandals so I went ahead and climbed out the drivers side rear window since none of the doors would open at the time. I walked down the road barefoot for about 2 miles until someone finally stopped and called the highway patrol for me. the trooper and I rode up and down the hwy for at least 1hr before I went to the hospital trying to find my car with no success. I went to the hospital and Im totally fine except for a torn AC joint in my left shoulder and Im really, really sore.

e39 saved my life, needless to say Ill be getting another one very soon...

wow, i also yelled some words when i saw the pics, the wife jumped about 5 feet in the air.....although the side airbags didn't seem to work...glad you are ok...

bkphoto I was also surprised that none of the airbags other than the steering wheel one went off. oh well Im okay with them not deploying, they may have hurt me more than help me lol...

wtf are you serious? why would I post up some fake ass story about how I crashed my car? If I wasnt gonna post up the truth I wouldnt have made a thread at all. I just wanted to share my extreme love for bmw and how it saved my life. I swear I wouldve died in a ford taurus or honda accord or something. you can look at the license plate in the before photo and the crumpled up plate in the crash photo and see that its the same damn number. Im so sorry I didnt think to hold up a f'n newspaper when I took these pics...and pics with date stamps on them are tacky
