Wow! And all you have to do is buy a brand new Bimmer?!
E82 135i: Alpine white on black leather; ZSP; ZCW; iPod/USB
Previous Bimmers owned (from last to first): E46 M3, E34 540i/6, E30 325iS, E34 525i, E30 318i
what better way to take a vacation? Buy your new BMW, go there and pick it up, drive it all over europe, have them ship it to the US when you are done, and get it when you get home?
thats not a bad idea if you were trying to buy a euro e36
Any downsides to Euro Delivery? I'm thinking of taking it on either a 335 or the new M3 in a year or so.
I saw a brand new Boxster S today with temp German tags that must have been a Euro delivery. I couldn't help but think how much it would suck to take delivery of your new sports car, be able to take it out onto the autobahn and the N-Ring, but not be able to really drive it because of the break-in period.

If you stay at least a week you are bound to break 1000 Miles then it's go time. Not like driving around 110MPH is no fun though before break in. Imagine all those spirited runs up to 100MPH.
I know it's far off but every other year me and the wifey do a international trip. Next year is a Medit. cruise to Greece, Italy and Turkey. I already told her in 2010 we are picking up my new Bimmer in Munich and touring Europe
"A fast car does not make a fast driver"
I did an ED last year and I am doing another this summer.
There is simply nothing like it.
And Lufthansa has been extending this deal to ED customers for a while as well.
^^ something about your signature picture cracks me up everytime I see it. Something about a chubby dude standing there watching the bimmer pull out?
I don't know call me crazy but I love it!
"A fast car does not make a fast driver"
so, let me get this straight, the way that read to me was that If i do an ED, i not only get to drive my new bimmer around europe, but i get it cheeper and shipped and such in the included price? thats a deal.
You get up to 7% off the MSRP (minus M cars), so basically you put that towards your trip. Now you can do ED and PCD (performance delivery center) together...that's new. PCD is free inlcuding hotel and food...just have to get to SC.
MBZ supposedly even gives more bonuses but then your stuck with a Benz With Porsche you actually have to pay ~$4.5k to do it and Audi just recently started to offer ED for US but only for people buying straight out and not leasing...which is excluding a good majority of people. Also Saab and Volvo offer programs for Sweden delivery.
I personally hope to do this sometime in the future...130i M-tech hatchback would suit me well

lol yes, that's right, I know it sounds fishy, but the savings and the experience are amazing. I did one myself just to experience the whole thing, and it was awesome. Here is a direct link to a little guide: http://edbmw.com/main/eded.html
read through it and you will understand more.
and this a great story written by someone, he gives some great tips

a little long, but worth it.
there are many articles all over the web, some of them on my blog, forum or website, scan through them and if you still have questions, feel free to ask.

A good friend has done this twice in the last 3 or 4 years & is leaving again in a week or 2 for his 3rd ED. I guess he's just going back for more punishment.
Can you do this with European Only models? Like a 530d or M5 Touring?
2006 Ferrari F430 Black / Black
2000 M5 Black / Caramel: SOLD
1997 M3/4/5 Cosmos / Dove: SOLD
wisky, from what I read, you can only do it on US models, its why the destination fee is the same.
the e36 has been out of production for over 8 years now.

euro cars are not part of the European delivery program. the European delivery program is ONLY for North American market cars that you purchase and take ultimate delivery of them from your dealer or the BMW Performance Facility in SC.
