    New trunkfloor (subframe) poster child...

Chris told me it was bad; this one is bad!

First time I've seen the damage carry all the over to the RH longitudinal rail. I got a glimpse of the underside, but I'm sure that it gets worse the more you see.

Since this car belongs to a board memeber (2000Z3M) that is halfway around the world, I'll be posting a running repair on his car so he can follow it here. It won't be until later on Saturday that I'll get the car up on the lift, and the real work won't begin until next week. Stay tuned, this one will be interesting...

Holy cow!!! How many miles on this one and was it tracked or heavily modified in any way? That is some scary shit.

I have 140K miles on the car. I have only done 2 auto-x on the car. I have H&R w/ bilstein, front sway bay and a CAI for my mods. Now the big question, is it fixable?

Sue made me keep the door between the garage and the house closed while I cleaned out your car. I don't know what her problem is, we have three (3) cats...

It was just trucked accross the county, my rear window stitched/zip riped apart about a month before I left. So I had the old window duck taped on, it must have fallen off.

Randy, Thank you for cleaning the car. Also If you want the new rear window thats in the trunk, its yours, free of charge.

I'm sorry but that's pathetic on BMW's part.

Chris, good luck with getting it all straightened out.

    Randy-

No project is too big for you to tackle

Is there clear evidence in this instance that the deformation followed the way the LSD twists?

For the guy that posted a question regarding miles driven and event exposure implicates correlation; consider putting your fear in a dark corner. 3 series old and new have seen similar problems and it's a random occurance. If it breaks, fix it. Or make what this guy made and watch it in your living room all day http://youtube.com/watch?v=SeUMDY01uUA

Wow!! So how do we prevent this other than not spinning wheel and driving hard? How much would it coast to reinforce and 01 M Roadster?

Random interesting observation. That's a neat place the dealer installed the alarm light and glass breakage microphone. Some of the dealers were very creative with where the put them. Mine are both in my obd2 port cover and I've never seen anyone else's there either.

Randy sells a complete kit to reconstruct and reinforce the weak area. Search for more information. You can either have it done by him or get the necessary kit for installation from him with a comprehensive installation manual.
