Clutch Master Cylinder Bore Size

I am trying to confirm the bore size of the M3 clutch master cylinder, both the older pre 95 build date style and the newer style. The best information I can find is that the older style is 5/8" and the newer one is 3/4"

Also, are there any other BMW clutch maters that will fit that have a larger bore?

TIA

i do not know the answer but i am curious as to why you would want a larger bore on the master cyl?

I need to know if a shim will be neceessary on my T-56 release bearing. If the MC is 5/8" then it will be a close call, at 7/8" I know it will work just fine.

I replaced the cluitch master and took the old one apart and measured. The bore size is 3/4" (0.750"), which puts it right between 5/8 (0.625") and 7/8" (0.875"). Tough call on the shim, but I think I am going to use a .125" shim.
