| X3, X5 & X6 (E53, E70, E71, E83) (2000 - current) BMW invented a new word when they introduced their SUVs to the world: Sport Activity Vehicle. Sportier and with more car like agility than the standard SUV, with all of the hauling perks for a more active lifestyle. Introduced in 1996, the X5 continues to be a hit. The younger sibling, the X3, was born in 2003. |

Name: Brian Wong
known here as: blw Location: Palo Alto CA / Gordonsville, VA the X5 is in Virginia, where it's needed just to get to the road! Unfortunately, the X5 is much better suited to this than the E46 M3C was...

Gordonsville is near Charlottesville, in central VA. I live in VA but work in CA. I telecommute most of the time, but spend about a week+ per month in the Bay Area. We moved east and back to rural surroundings after getting sick of the traffic, rat race and expense. My cars are split - the X5 and 740 are in VA, the 528 is with my daughter in Santa Cruz, and the 325 goes where it's warmer. (ie VA in summer/fall, CA in winter/spring.)

Wow, that is an interesting commute for you! Racking up those frequent flyer miles though
![]() Yeah, and i would agree with the living in CA in the winter/spring.....it gets gross here in the mid-atlantic...(it's snowing as I speak : )

Actually I live in VA all year -- just the 325ic has it so easy
And the frequent flyer miles are somewhat overrated, especially these days. We moved east a month and a half before 9/11 and that has made the commute far more of a hassle and a lot less fun. Then my company changed airlines and now I end up splitting miles three ways, instead of concentrating them. Oh well, I still get to live where I like and keep a good job...I know how you feel about snow - here's the view from my front porch right now! (The garage is still being built!)

Yeah. it's STILL snowing!
:Isn't there some sort of deal amongst the airlines where you can merge you flyer miles into a universal account? My mom was talking to me about it, but I'm unsure if it's true or not ![]() Yeah, must be nice to live where you want and keep a good job...then again, I'd wanna live in San Diego ![]()
