X3, X5 & X6 (E53, E70, E71, E83) (2000 - current) BMW invented a new word when they introduced their SUVs to the world: Sport Activity Vehicle. Sportier and with more car like agility than the standard SUV, with all of the hauling perks for a more active lifestyle. Introduced in 1996, the X5 continues to be a hit. The younger sibling, the X3, was born in 2003.

If you want the best build quality with long lasting results and like a rear door that swings open like a barn door, pick the GX470. If you want a handling machine with a split rear door (hatch) with a few more visits to the repair shop, pick the X5. If you want a major headache, bone jarring ride and like spending your life at a gas pump, pick the h1. I just finished driving the LX470, GX470, X5 3.0 & X5 4.4,.....winner...........X5 4.4. Owned BMW & Lexus evenly, 97 528, 95 M3, 96 LS400 & 98 GS300, trading my LS in for the X5.

Its really betwwen the gx and the x5. I just always wanted an H1 and had heard many bad stories of repairs. The H2 is a 3/4 ton GMC so that is out of the question as well. I know the gx will be easy and mostly problem free but the X5 drives so nice, maybe if I can talk to a BMW mechanic and get a set of factory manuals.

Decisions, Decisions
