Just came in from qualifying...the upper bolt that attaches the hub to the strut broke. The lower two bolts are bent. I need to replace all 3. The lower bolts need to be 1/2 inch longer than stock due to a spacer we use on the strut.
Does anyone know a local store that carries quality metric hardware? Are there any shops locally that would possibly have the hardware I need? Techno's shop?
Any help would be appreciated...trying to make the race at 3:30.
just find a hardware store, get the best you can and check it often.
if you need parts overnighted, I can help out too!
Thanks
brad
Try posting in the Georgia regional forum. It's a very active sub-forum; you might get a quicker response there.
Call Bobby at Strictly German, down the street from RA. I just talked to somebody who was up there, apparently there's broken race cars all over the place.

If you can use stock sizes go to strictly German they will have any nut and bolt you need, otherwise there are a lot of Bf.c members at RA today maybe they can help a little better on where to go.

I'm betting that a lot of folks haven't had time for proper maintenance between races...

Flat tire on my trailer when we got home late afternoon on Monday. Prevented me from getting the damper off the car in time for UPS overnight to Joe Stimola.
Not to mention, I'm having to replace front bearings and tie rods. LOL
Also, my office had a very large laundry list of things I HAD to take care of before I could go back out of town! I'm still working on that list today.
I'll be ready for Roebling Road, unless something unforseen arises.

BRYAN CHECK THE STRUT AND ASSOCIATED PARTS. IF IT WAS ENOUGH TO BEND AND BUST THAT HARDWARE, GOOD CHANCE SOMETHING ELSE MIGHT HAVE BROKEN AS WELL.
Was this from an incident, felt it while driving, or found it upon afterrun inspection?
Also, wow, Clay was QUICK. He was only a hair behind watts times in Bassens car, I think Bassen still has more hp, and is lighter, but thats quick for bassens car there, damn.
Clay won IP and CM, very nice. But I wonder if there was some screwup with timing or yellow or something b/c the time difference was quite a bit...maybe hit traffic or something, weird.
Glad watts was able to run the enduro today, i guess everything worked out.
And also for comparison sake to show how fast WCT cars are, Mazda 6 and RSX were both in mid to high 33's this year in qualifying, and thats on RA-1's. Closest BMW was Thomas at 35.5.
Watts quickest time today was 34 flat (which was quickest overall, also had quickest time in every session).

It's not speed that kills, it's the speed difference that does. Obviously you aren't going fast enough.

I read a list of the 100 things you MUST do before you die. Funny, "Yelling 'HELP'" didn't make the list!
I heard about some terminal mechanicals (cars on trailers going home) and a wadded up car already
