X3, X5 & X6 (E53, E70, E71, E83) (2000 - current) BMW invented a new word when they introduced their SUVs to the world: Sport Activity Vehicle. Sportier and with more car like agility than the standard SUV, with all of the hauling perks for a more active lifestyle. Introduced in 1996, the X5 continues to be a hit. The younger sibling, the X3, was born in 2003.

DDE Question

Will the headlight assembly from a five series with angel eyes transfer onto an X5?

not without surgery. Mobile Innovations in NJ will do the surgery for you. Full install will run you about $1500.

What they do is take your old headlights, heat them up to unseal them, insert the halo and light mechanism from the 5 series and reseal your housings. LOTS AND LOTS of manual labor.

Wouldn't the 5 series lights fit in the same opening as teh X5? Or are the assemblies entirely different?

yes the 5 series angels and brackets will fit the 5 series headlights. Fitment isnt a whole big issue but rather the labor involved. I custom fit 5 series angel headlight parts into my headlights which took me 3 days to complete.
