The tubro looks good, and your brace makes sense. Can't wait to see it.

Will the valve cover be done too? Please?

I don't know. For someone who currently has 2 cranks and is about to obtain a third one, I have a feeling you need a crank.

As for the bling blang, it should look great when finished. Now, is it just me, or is that motor mount bracket in the spot in which the AC would go? And no, the turbo is not too big.

Dude Robstah you made me panic. I actually got in my sisters 530 and drove over to our shop (2 miles away) at 1am here because I thought I had the engine mount bolted in wrong when designing the up pipe!!! I drove over and realized i left my 525i keys at home, so I got on the ground and looked up from under. No, the engine mount goes there on the E34. I think there are those other two holes behind (to the left) of the mount for the E36! Man I was panicked! I compared the mount on my engine stand to the mount in the car and they're in the same spot... whew!

Heh, too bad for you I didn't read this just after robstah posted. I would have quickly pointed out that the E34 and E36 use different mounting holes. (I had to make motor mount adapters for my E34 when swapping M20's. M20's and M50's have 6 motor mount holes, but only use 4 on a given car... and the motor I got to swap in only had those 4 used before tapped...)

You'll definately need to brace the turbo. Thats a HUGE moment on the flange on the manifold... and its an ssautochrome manifold that was doomed to crack/fail anyway. I'd hate to see the carnage of a hot live turbo bouncing around in an engine bay.

Well the heat of the actual turbo will be off of that manifold now, and I think I am going to brace it to the head flange studs. Should work out!

The turbo makes heat? I always thought the engine did that. You're mani will glow regardless turbo placement. I've seen five or so autorcrap manis that were braced to themselves fail, and a couple that didn't when the turbo was braced to the engine itself. Your plan should work out fine.

edit: you should brace it down to the block too.

edit 2: here's a pic I sniped of what honda guys who are too cheap to shell out $$$$ for a good mani do:

No worse than heat transfer through anything else cast. with similar surface area. like say the stock manifolds.

    Sorry Jon.

Just curious, but where does the AC mount up to?
