Well it made it.The Lil 2.8 made 704whp
The bad news it now has a rod bearing knock
What a fun day But hanging at ICS is always a good time.Looks like no street racing tohight(ha Ha).George, Jr and I worked the Lil 2.8 on the tec3 to the limits. We made multiple passes of 680-690 but I wanted to hit that 700
mark for the B.F.F.I. crew and we did.George advised me of what could happen but I said lets do it.A little more fuel and a little more boost.
Also we found the limits of the walbro 255 it was not supplying enough
fuel we ran a little heavy on the duty cycle to keep enough fuel.
Well there you go guys the limits of stock M52 the time getting here
was great.I probally would have not pushed this motor so hard but
we all wanted too see this.George what a great job. Jr what a
day thanks.
Here are some vids for ya little bit of build and dyno

Congrats on the magic number!! Sucks that the motor had to give. You gotta keep that thing and put it in the garage on a stand as if it were a museum piece. That's a piece of BMW FI History!!!!
What duty cycle were the injectors at, and what size are they?

The end on the stock internal 2.8 journey.. congrats on reaching 700rwhp! :-)Originally Posted by card counter
very very sweet indeed.
can i ask a question?
with your TEC3 do you have your own wideband the PLX wired into your tec unit? if you do when you went tuning did you gys go off that reading from the PLX or did your tuner still opt to use their own wideband? meaning you might have had to remove your wideband to place theirs in your downpipe?
with that rod bearing knock, is the engine toast? fixable?
or are you just ready to throw in the built M52?
Edit: oh yeah, and congrats on reaching your goal! You are now inducted into the M52 hall of fame!
Time to update the sig!
Wish it could have made it to the track. Maybe not 9secs, but you could have pushed 150mph.
congrats buddy, you really deserve it! now get that motor fixed so we can hit the strip friday night!

Congratulations!
That is awesome! And the thing nobody has mentioned is that a rod bearing went before a rod or piston. I love it! It looks like an awesome motor to run 600whp all day long with only thicker HG/ARP setup. No need for spending the money on full builds.
Thank you for taking all the time, effort and money to prove to everyone what the m52 can do.
We will see tomorrow george is pulling off the oil pan to see its a little knockOriginally Posted by Captain
sounds like a bearing but could be a bent rod.If it will take a bearing I will ask George to put a new one in
and be at the track next week

Congrats U! It was definately a crazy ride. Let's hope for a bearing and not a rod.

The best part is that on the final spun bearing pass.. It was making another 40ftlbs and 35whp when I stoped the pull..
Can we say 750rwhp out of GT35r?
I had a great time tuning the beast.. I can tell everyone this fucker is going to fly when its up and running again(tomorrow because we are great like that!)
Thats a HUGE number, congrats
Incredible... I'm going to be happy with 400rwhp
