    TC Kline S/A coil-over adjustment

    Hi Guys..

Coupe/Roadster owners who have the TC Kline S/A coil-over setup.. How do you adjust the rears to go down? I can't find any decent how-to for the tc kline installation, the one off their website is long gone now.. I left everything on stock form which lowered the car 1 inc both ways.. I can lower the fronts but the rears i'm having issues with.. How do I adjust the rear end to go down? Do I need to bring the rear spring adjuster up? I have it set to full low and still I have about 3 inc gap at the rear well.. I also didn't rotate the rear shocks just left it as-is.

And man the full firm setting is insane, drove for 300km and my back hurts lol..

    Thanks in advance..

    Jeff

JBgotM knows a lot more about setting up TCKR stuff. I didn't use the adjustable spring perch b/c of your situation. I'm on the regular springs (the shortys are for lightened race Z3 versions) and 5mm spring pads from BMW. The drop looks right imo.

Question for you.. Will the no adjuster + 5mm spring pad will hold the regular spring in place? I'm not sure why TCK have those adjusters will the regular spring it will just bring the ride height higher if you increase it.

another expensive solution would be to have 5mm for stock rims and shorty springs on the rear with hight adjuster like JBhotM's setup.. this will have the slammed look.

anyways, i'll try your setup first... thanks

    S52 M Roadster, WRX,
You do have the shorty springs (not barrels springs) with the hieght adjuster, correct?

EDIT: ahh yeah, you need shorties with the adjsuters or barrel with a little spring pad. You can raise the car pretty high with the shorty springs and asjusers. I can get my car to stock hieght with no problems if I wanted to.

Nope, came with barrels springs.. I just ordered the shorty 600lbs springs and 5mm spacers for stock wheels.. I run 225/45/17 tires so those should work fine I hope..

Btw, how do you adjust the firmness on the fronts? The cap adjuster that came with the coil-over can't fit in there .. Can I just turn that manually?

EDIT: my front 18" Breyton Visions rubs the springs now!!! Stock rims is ok with 2 inc wheel gap but if lowered more I will need the 5mm for sure.. As for the Breyton I guess its time to move on and sell em.

I have no experience with the shorty springs so you'll have to post your findings.

You can turn them with a duck-bill plier. I had the same problem too. But after I added the adj. camber plates, the Koni adjuster fit right in!

If they weigh more than your stockers, I'd sell them. I'm only interested in lightening up my car especially the unsprung weight.

    S52 M Roadster, WRX,
when you use the barrel springs, use no adjuster and a pad only if you feel like it. If yuo use the shorty spring, then yuo need to use the adjusters.

For the shock adjustment, I have TCK camber plates and can adjust no problems except i don't have much room if I slam the plates to negative camber.

You need to use spacers for thefront wheels. My stock wheels rubbed with my coilovers. I put on a set of spacers and the problem went away.

Thanks guys.. finally finished the coil-over reconfiguration.. All corners ended up at 23 inc i'll wait for it to adapt and see how that goes. For some reason my coupe came with 5mm pads at the rear already :/

As for the shorty, i'll slam it when it arrives here hopefully by thursday

Not hijack, but I too just installed above and have crazy looking front neg. camber with camber plates set at minimum. Will/can some be taken out at alignment? Fender rear ride height is at 25.25" down from 26".

A TCK package with their camber plates will leave you about -2.0 with the plates all the way out and about -4.0 with the plates all the way in. There really isn't a way of getting less negative camber that I know of.

    -2.0

Tom.. where are you checking the ride high from? It says to check it from the lower rim lip to the middle of the fender. 25.25" is kind of high?

Rear is 23" as described above; Front currently at 22.5". I will try raising the front slightly but as I understand it, you then start losing rebound travel....I don't know how important this is for street--maybe more so than track?...

I am okay with it at this height, which maybe 3/4-1" lower. I was looking primarily for suspension control, street-friendly (Michigan) travel and SOME lowering.

Cut a notch in the end of a spare bolt w/ a dremel to make a ghetto adjustment tool for the front shocks. Hey it works.

guys.. I have a question regarding the front strut assembly.. They provided a washer with the strut.. Where does that washer go?

I setup my front strut as follows...

    nut
    strut hut protector
    strut hut
    little cap
    big plate
    top spring plate
    compressed spring
    lower spring plate
    lower spring plate 2

    Thanks
    Jeff
