X5 not so popular on Bimmer forums? - Bimmerforums

I just browse from time to time Bimmerforums to see if there are any new post on the X5....but nothing..seems that X5 is not a popular car here... to bad..

it's still a relatively new car (2 years) and is not as common on the road as, say an e46.

give it time, they will come

We love all BMW's on here. I think the X5 is usually a 2nd car for most of the people on here who have one.

I like X5's anyway.

Also they are new and I think almost all are under warranty AND they are not the most popular BMW's with regard to aftermarket modifications. Most people will just stick some subs and dubs on them and call it a day.

I think you guys are right, it is a new car...although I just ordered the second one...had to many issues with the first one....anyone knows what I am talking about? 3 recals on fan's, surging engine, 2 software mods on my transmission, moisture in the Headlights...to name a few....neverthelless I love that car, that's why I ordered a new one....still 3 more weeks and it will be here

Love that Black car with the Antera's? but prefer silver wheels instead of chrome..

we have had the moisture in the headlight problem, but that is so minor that we haven't even taken that in to get looked at.

Yeah, it is a pretty new car, and most of the people who would be enthusiasts come from North America so maybe as time goes by we'll see more people trading in their MLs, or buying 2nd hand ones. I see at least a dozen everyday here in Hong Kong, but I'll bet none of them post here because they're not enthusiasts.

This is my soon to be replaced X5. 4.4/Xenon/Nav/19's/Retractible loadfloor.
New one is going to be 4.4/Steel grey/Grey leather/Nav/Ride hight adjustment/19's/Retractible loadfloor.

I live in West Palm Beach, Florida....it seems that EVERYONE here also bought the same car.....well.....I hope it will be a little different with the Steel grey one

Well I've seen some Steel Grey ones here and they really look great because the color is so much more lively than black under different color conditions, good chocie

how is it driving a X5 in Tsim sha Tsui? I have been a couple of times in Hong Kong, but from what I remember is the gridlock during rush hour a real pain..especially when it rains.

Heh heh, I live on Hong Kong island so I try my best to steer clear of driving to or through TST, to say the least, it sucks :p In any case, the traffic here is really bad, and most people either don't know how to drive, or just don't give a rat's ***. Nice thing it's the only car I've driven here where people actually move out of the way when you come up from behidn them, especially with the xenons on at night... must scare them or something... As for rain, the X is perfect, I had the mistfortune of driving through a typhoon once here where I drowned the engine of the car I was in. No chance of that in the X5

Anyway, not sure if you've seen the roads on HK island side, but they're nice driving roads with lots of twisties (if there's no traffic or roadworks). The X5 handles brilliantly considering it's bulk, and I really feel like I'm getting all the road information through the steering which I really have never experienced in an SUV up until now.

I've been up that observatory on that mountain once....but it was to foggy that day..love Hong Kong...might be there in a couple of months.

Nice car. I'd still get an Escalade in a heartbeat. X5 is too minivanish for me.

I don't think the Escalade is going to be as much of a driver's car. I hear that the X5 actually handles pretty well.

No pictures yet, need to upload them but the new X5 definatly is better than the old one.
For one it is quiter, less wind noise...it also feels like it handles better.
I expected a lot more of the ride hight adjustment.
I havent figured it out completly but it doesn't automatically lower the car yet.
As soon as I find out more about that I will let you know.
