to say the least i was and am pleasantly surprised..
my set up:
started with my 3.2 @ ~230whp added a powerdyne blower, water injection and NickG's (remote) magic for now.
my numbers:
florida's sun index: 86f
whp- ~292
wtq- ~245
3 lbs of boost (only )
afr 10:1 which explains the low torque numbers, for now until i get to go down and visit with Nick next week.
conclusion: Nick knows his shit..

What!? You made 292rwhp on 3psi of boost?

Thats aweome...those are numbers for a stage one vortech or rotrex at like 7 psi...wow, very impressive habbie...3 lbs of boost.
i find it difficult to believe since most powerdyne units are making those #'s with 8psi.
do you even know what a plethora is?
must be the MA bug going around....Originally Posted by ///M3 CRAZY

Yeah, sorry, but I'm with Drew . How did you monitor your boost via a boost gauge or did the operator run a line?Originally Posted by ///M3 CRAZY

Let me first say, I am not doubting this for second ... I have seen Nick's work on others' cars on here and he does know his work very well.Originally Posted by habbie
But, making almost 300rwhp with only 3 pounds of boost and no other motor mods?
Are you sure your boost gauge is reading correctly? Maybe you have a line loose? It probably should read 8 pounds and it's only reading 3. 300rwhp on just 3psi just doesn't make sense whatsoever.

You could possibly have a leak in your line running to your gauge.

let me also say this was meant to be a prop to Nick and his excellent work, lets not turn this into a mud slinging contest.

Talk about being rich... My guess a severe leak somewhere and your gauge is off, maybe in the vac line to the gauge. There is no possible way you can hit those numbers on 3psi boost, unless you have a V8 sitting pretty under the hood.
maybe but i doubt it.Originally Posted by slcook54

Habbie's got a really weird setup, as his motor has super-duper high compression (250+psi cranking compression), so it got a REALLY conservative program initially to keep the engine alive (extra rich and retarded timing). Obviously habbie's car needs more tuning, and that will be done next week. I'll see for myself what the boost is and what this puppy can put out.

I don't think they even make a 3# pulley.
250psi I think is greater than 11 1/2 to1 lotsa milling to that head I guess

3 psi -> 60 rwhp, 1 psi = 20 rwhp increase...
but then if I think about my car,
10 psi -> 270 rwhp, 1 psi = 27 rwhp increase...
i guess it could be possible.

I doubt that boost is a linear value. Nothing with adding hp is.Originally Posted by bimmerpwr

What Habbie didn't tell you guys is that his motor isn't stock, it was built (to what extent, I don't know) at one point by the previous owner and is thus a mystery motor with extremely high compression and there is another credible vendor on this forum that can vouch for that.
So let us allow our resident Tuning Messiah to finish his magic before we begin to declare war on Habbie.
Hey man, I'm a professional!
250+ psi of compression! Schnikes! You probably don't want to run more than 5-6 psi tops anyway..haha. Is the engine built somehow to be that way?

Sweet!!!! High compression plus boost!!!! Last time I rode in something like that it was a Civic with a fully built Type R motor and turbo....geez that was a fun 500WHP ride.
Kudos on the power! Now get that thing tuned!!!

Although I cannot confirm what Habbie's ACTUAL boost level is, I know enough about the car and the motor to be confident that it's output is likely to be a bit of an anomaly compared to what we are used to.
Let Nick get done with it, and confirm the boost, and then there will be no remaining questions.
But, in the meantime Ouri:

I'll let habbie chime in if he wants to post the results. But in the end, we retuned it and got a nice fat, even powerband
