    updated turbo parts pix

    well im finally getting near completion.



    needless to say im getting really excited. even though im going slower than i thought and wanted im ok with that. as long as i make sure i get things done right





    heres the list so far.

    Manifold - Spa Racing - $415 purchased from BFC member Techno550

    Intercooler - Spearco 24x10x3 Bar and Plate - $250 purchased from friend who went bigger was bought on ebay for $300 originally

    Wastegate - Spa Racing 38mm Big gate - $340 - purchased from BFC member Techno550 again

    BOV - HKS SSQV $133 purchased on honda-tech slightly used for 3 weeks

    Motor mount - Cartech - $150

    PnP TEC III - $2000 dollars

    so far sitting at $5070.65

    Then add a UUC Cerametallic Clutch and Pressure plate - 688.00

    Total with everything AND clutch $5758.65

    got quoted on a full 3 inch exhaust from downpipe to muffler with all flanges and O2 sensor bungs for 700 dollars with me doing nothing(good price in my opinion)

    so when all said and done everything finished i wil be sitting at 6458.65 including full stand alone tec3

    take away the tec3 and the entire kit sits right at 4458.65

    in my opinion a pretty good price for full kit which still includes a clutch kit, full exhaust, gauges and all SS lines and great quality parts that can make over 400 hp.

    I wondered about mixmatching spark plugs....don't you suspect any problems? Why not just run all the same plugs?

    im not mixmatching.. i got 2 sets.. 1 step colder 7 series and 2 step colder 8 series so when i go get tuned i can try both sets out with various gaps from .28 - .32 and see what best works for me.

    they say for every 100 hp go one step colder than stock.. well my goal is 400 hp and thast over 100 but not quite 200 hp over stock so i just got both sets and wil try 7 series first and if i need to ill take them out and try the 8 series..

    once i find the heat range plug i like and proper gap i wil drop some money on the Denso iridium plus in whatever heat range i need.

    i will have a few friends with welders help me out if posible when mocking up the intercooler piping and downpipe and exhaust piping. so not entirely bymyself ill have help

    Nice setup.

    How much space is there between your dump pipe and the area where your downpipe is supposed to be? I know w/ my GT35R there is almost NO space between them. Its gonna be a close fit.

    yea its kinda close but i know it will fit with the DP.. i might not be able to go with the 4 bolt to V band adapter flange and just go wiht a standard 4 bolt flange we shall see.

    and yes planning on stock compression. id like to see where i get with this setup first before i start tearing apart the motor..

    i am definately cutting the line shorter when i test fit the turbo on a mock up motor with oil pan i was just foolin around with that -10an hose end fitting on the end of the drain line because one hose end is earls and the other is russels and i wanted to see how much harder one was over the other to thread onto the SS line. turns out its about the same hardness i stil got blisters on my hands lol

    What is the Diameter of the 4 Bolt? 2.5 so it fits the SPA Downpipe or larger?

    im really leaning towards the PnP E manange ultimate offered by MA right now but i came across a great deal on a AEM 1050U box from a honda friend of mine for 1000 dollars barely used.. so all i would need is a C2DI box and custom harness form the 1050 box to the 88pin DME ive been talking to someone about making the harness for me and setting the 1050U box for me with a flat price

    and with everything i have priced together for the AEM setup going my route i am saving a considerable amoutn of money over the evosport kit (not saying its bad) im just always open to cheaper alternatives even if it takes me longer to get there because if i had the money right now i would get the evosport kit no doubt..

    tec3 is still in the air.. has a great pric for their PnP kit from Sias tuning so those are my 3 options..

    well there are 2 types of 4 bolt turbos. ones with 2.5 in outlet and ones with 3 inch outlet

    i have the 2.5 in outlet yes the SPA downpipe would have fit perfectly but its 2.5 in all teh way out.. i want a DP that is 3 inches all the way from the flange..

    Similar setup to mine except mine has thicker headgasket, arp bolts, new exhaust manifold studs and nuts, bigger turbo and a cartech engine mount. I changed the valve cover gasket, spark plug gaskets and stuff too while I was in there.

    What kind of power gains are you aiming for? How do u plan on doing the intake side w/ the stock engine mount? Oh and bolting on the SPA manifold is going to be a B*TCH with the head on. It was already time consuming with it off

    i forgot to mention i am purchasing the BOOST LOGIC motor mount that clears 4 inch intakes.. only 150 bux..

    or i might have techno550 fab me up one for a price ifs he up to it since hes local he does great work.


    i just picked up a new oil pan gasket so when i take the pan off to tap for return line ill have a new gasket there..

    i always make trips to my local stealer for little things like gaskets i just didnt mention them in my prices lol figured they were minimal and a give in.

    i did look at my first post..

    i did NOT include any costs on gaskets and such mainly because when you buy off the shelf kits you dont get any of that stuff either..

    also i included price of clutch, PP and flywheel kit but that should NOT be tallied into the cost of what i have spent for the turbo kit because as i said before i dont see any other Turbo kit out there that includes a full clutch kit as well.. AA, TT, TSI, Boostlogic, MA ect.. none of them include clutch kits so why should i u know lol

    In the first picture of this thread their is a line coming off the turbo going towards the top of the picture (the thin one), is it the oil feed? And why is the oil drain hose so long? And where are you going to tap in for an oil feed? Sorry im a newb. thanks
