First I would like to thank our team, Rob, Dan and Josh. My buddies Bobby Carter and Brad from Evosport.
Finally we have one of our cars for the 2006 season. This chassis will be campaigned in World Challenge GT for a number of races in 2006. As far as our rookie effort, thegoal is to make Sebring, and St. Pete take a deep breath and go to Sears Point, Miller Motorsports Park and Laguna. Hopefully we will be testing by January. I really don't know what we are getting ourselves into. We are competing against 3 million dollar budgets. This is a huge step for us, and we will have a very steep learning curve. It will be fun and challenging to compete with the best. I can't wait to drive this thing.

Ya'll are brave to enter GT in a BMW! Good luck! Look forward to following the progress.
I'm trying to put something together for Sebring myself. Hope we both make it!
SWC GT? Holy crap man.
I can't wait to drive it too!

Yeah, it does look like we are crazy. I feel like we have to come out at night, away from all the meat eaters(Caddies, vettes, comp coupes, porsches) Geez when does it end. I heard that a Ford GT and the new Aston V8 will also be entering GT. Who knows maybe Audi too. Not much wil be expected of us, but I am sure we will surprise some people, especially at Sears and Miller Motorsports Park
At least one Ford GT will be in GT, more likely 2. One will have a VERY seasoned racer in it.
Good luck on your efforts...and congrats!
Glad it made its way to a new home, goodluck with it!
Dale, are you going to pilot either of them?
The Ford GT was at Sema form the looks of it, pretty sick. There is some awesome cars coming out for Rolex, GT and ALMS next year, its going to be a great GT year...and DP/LMP should be fun as well.
I'm looking forward to the Imsa Lights series!
: Yowzers.....best of luck and keep us posted on the progress
Dale, going to run a V8?

SCCA seems to be open to non-stock combos at times...petition them to allow you to slide a nice M5 V8 in there.Originally Posted by CABimmer
Yeah we are working with Aaron and Harry on getting a new combo homologated. Something that hasn't been done in the E46 in WCGT yet. I'll release more details once we get it finalized.

Now we're talking. Heck, the M3 is already at an aero, suspension, and size disadvantage before you even consider that it's running a "small" 3.2 liter motor.Originally Posted by M Rob
I doubt they'd let an M5 motor in, but they could probably let in a worked 3.4L...the competition is going to have so much power, its going to be a short life engine if its going to keep up. Factory teams just spending way too much for power off the showroom floor.
Hell, the Z06 is making 455whp STOCK!
Aaron barely let Aimsports and other "dashes" into some cars, i don't think he'll let a v8 implant go over to easily...unless you were not in contention for the championship.
But maybe a supercharged s54...

Why not? They've let in strange motor combos in the past. Supercharged Mustangs, superchaged M3's, supercharged NSX. And while it's not a motor change, the Cadillac is basically a race car from the ground-up, sharing only parts of the floorpan with the actual street car. And for a while, they allowed a basically tube frame Saleen to run GT.Originally Posted by Steve J.
For sure I am going to drive it. It will be up to Mitch and the boys what combo we run. With what we are up against I don't see them saying no to much. A V8 would be fun.
I guess you could run it if you slip him a couple bucks, might be able to squeeze a v8 through tech Just swap valve covers, they dont know any better haha
congrats dale and rob!
The dash issue is simply a matter of SCCA being able to easily download and analyze data from the various cars so that they can make informed decisions about competition adjustments.Originally Posted by Steve J.
The World Challenge system is pretty open as far as the rules go, with each VTS often making special allowances or declaring certain parts legal for various cars. Heck, they let the Mazda's use a sequential tranny in TC, so a motor transplant in GT wouldn't be any big deal. Finding combinations that can be competitive, increase the field count, and give as many different types of cars a chance at placing well seems to be the goal of the series.
Considering what the M3 is up against, a nice V8 powered, wide fendered M3 is just barely getting the M3 up to "spec" with the rest of the field. Look at the Volve and Cadillac for examples of just how many allowances they'll make.
Dale - Keep us updated when you hear from SCCA, if you can.
But thats also b/c they, lets say, "helped" Scca.
And the dash rules is more indepth than that, i can IM you Aarons explanation that he gave to me...and then retracted and gave another explanation haha. He's a good guy though, and does a good job for sure, just confuses me on some of their decisions.
I think they should definitely see what they can get out of scca, could make for a fun couple races!
Congrats guys!! Good luck with the build up! I will be watching to see whatcha got brewing. Should be very interesting!

Slapping on a Eurosport twin screw would be cheaper than building a v8. They let the 4.6 liter Mustang do it, an itty bitty 3.2 should be an easy sell.
