When can I post url and pics?

I try and I get denied. I am not used to communicating without pics and links.

Here is what I get:
You are currently not allowed to post URLs ... your account does not have the necessary permissions to do so.

What the hell!?

You need a certain number of posts before you can post links.

Thanks, I've been trying to figure the URL thing out for a while now. I have 18 posts and still can't use URL's though.

Why not use a Turing test on registration, to filter out the spambots?

BTW, what's the required minimums to send a PM?

(I understand the concerns, but I think this is a bit overboard -- I've been registered since May but have only 11 posts, I just tend to frequent the SpecE30 and NCCBMWCCA boards much more than BimmerFest.)

i started being able to post urls and pics after 25, iread sum where else that becuz the server is slow due to the large amount of members it will take an hour after u pass the amount to be able to actually able to post,but i dont know why but i cant put a photo on my signiture, sum people cant even post urls and are posting pics in their sigs,

I understand the reason why something like this is in place, yet it makes it hard for n00bs to get responses without being able to post pics or url's of the pic location for troubleshooting.
