That car is so tastefully modified too... I love the rear end. Even though it's probably the best looking E30 I've seen, that dual ball-bearing whine would make it the most incredible even if it looked like a hooptie (like mine!).

It's too bad there wasn't some test info on it. I bet it would trap a pretty darned high quarter mile!

Whoa! Are you serious? I must say, I've never heard the high frequency whine on anything but DBB turbos like GT-series Garrets and such.

Incredible.

Speaking of which Andreas... would you be willing to share info on your wild creation? I've only seen one picture of the engine bay that you posted, and I almost wet myself. Hahaha

I built the silver M3 for a customer in Norway. It is soon engine dyno on that one. So we can see if we hit 1000+ real hp.

I build on my own M3 now, pics are coming soon.

Defacto is correct. I remember seeing some 1000+hp car you built. I only saw one engine bay shot though, and the sheer size of the compressor's inducer made me a little dizzy I'd love to hear some more about the car (what it took to get there, boost level, turbo choice, etc..) and see some more pictures of the beast... in fact, I don't even know what year it is!

I'll be looking forward to updates on your other endeavors. I plan on posting info on mine soon enough. The current project is getting the beater (318i) seeing 0.7bar boost for under $500 total cost. I've sourced most everything, and still only need some lines and exhaust components, and I still have half the budget to use.

It should be fun... cetainly won't be as quick as the 951, but for a total car cost of under $1500 and some neat custom stuff, I said "why not?" Grassroots Motorsports, are you reading this?

Sorry to hijack... we now return to your regularly scheduled drooling.

The fact that they put that engine on a bench dyno just tops it off right there! That is just way too sick! I want to do that! My engine is out of my car and my tuner has access to an engine dyno. I am gonna do everything I can to get it bench dynoed like that. That is just awesome!
please get it bench dyno'd and we will see if I am completely out to lunch with my fixed power, not percentage theory.

That post was 10/16/2005. My engine is in my car and I don't care about wasting money on a bench dyno. In fact I don't give a about bhp anyway. What is at the wheels works for me and that doesn't even really matter as much as a Vbox run which doesn't matter as much as the quarter mile.
