Angry Got gum on my car

I dont know where or when this happened since I went all over the place this weekend but I just noticed gum all over my bumper. Im so pissed, im just glad it wasn't keyed or anything. Fucking broke ass bus riding haterz. Anyone know a good way to remove gum without damaging or scratching the paint?

Basically when you remove it you must make sure you get it very wet and keep it very wet. Attempting to remove it dry might damage your paint and will cause frustration. I'd take a soft sponge, wet the spots real well, wet the sponge, and rub it gently until it works loose. Don't rub too hard, it should begin to work lose fairly soon. You might want to try soap with it too. That sucks though, I feel your pain. Good luck.

Might also want to try putting ice on it to get the top layers off? Ice is effective with carpet ... I don't know about on paint though!

I second the freeze it with ice suggestion, the gum basically gets hard and you should be able to gently pull it off. Good luck.

Havent tried it, but I like the ice suggestion as well. If there is any residue, first try a quick detailer, if that doesn't work, try some clay.

What about hot water to boil the gum off?

I had gum on my car too. I tried picking most of it off first (when it was still soft). I then used Zymol car wax to remove the rest of it. It came right off.

No, I think the heat just makes the gum easier to spread on more parts of your car and tougher to remove cleanly. Give the ice a try first...

You might be able to try some kind of adhesive remover.

This happened to me once...I just chewed it off.
OK...seriously speaking, the ice does work but the best way is to use a bug and tar remover as you can imagine how bad tar is and it gets that off easily.

Good luck!!!

Try the ice... peanut butter will do just fine as well, or get out the bug & tar remover and take it off.

It's really not a problem, clean it off... go for a drive. Relax :emo

Most auto supply stores, Auto Zone, PepBoys. NAPA , will have a decent bug and tar remover.

Use GooGone. You can get it anywhere (WalMart). It'll take anything off like bug guts, tar, pine sap and won't hurt the paint (as long as you rinse thoroughly afterwards). You may want to give the whole car a wash afterward. I've used it on my car with no problems.

Go with the bug and tar remover. I just recently found a whole bunch of gum on my car too. I think I ran over it and it whipped it all over the side of the car. That stuff works really really well. It comes right off with little effort.:

oooh u know what might be good, but not sure if it'll fuck up ur paint

ok i used to fuck around with this when i worked at longs, u know those spray cans that clean dirt and stuff off of computers? Like the compressed air? Turn it upside down so liquid comes out in the reallllllly cold/frozen form, spray that gum, and it'll come out just like that, it's worked for me when it was on counters/wood, dunno about paint, maybe someone else here knows though
