Hi Guys -
It's been a long while since I last updated everyone on the status of my car. The car recently went into ICS to have a full 3" turbo exhaust put in, and for ICS/AA to tune the car for 13-14 psi.
I've got to get some pics of the new exhaust.. ICS did a great job with the custom exhaust system.
Here's the latest baseline dyno, this is without new tuning. It looks like, even with the 20g.. I will be making over 400rwhp (or very close to it). This was done with the following conditions:
98.52 degrees F, 29.92 in-Hg, Humidity 41%, SAE 1.03
Can't wait to see where we'll be with further tuning... The max boost was .78 bar.. dropping off to .69 bar up top....

got to love the a/f ratio on the 4k mark hahaha
Great numbers for 11 psi. What happened at 4k RPMs with the air/fuel?

I'm impressed. Maybe I don't need to upgrade the turbo, just the motor!

Its a base chip off the shelf it still needs lots of attention, 400rwhp it will make with n/p, the only downside is that it may need a larger fuel pump.Originally Posted by ///M4life
just for fun, I decided to graph my last RMS supercharger graph with the latest AA turbo graph..

Your RMS kit only made 320whp? I thought you had 11lbs of boost.

Thanks, don't know.. it went real rich and actually blew out the spark.. We're going to get that ironed out in the next few days.Originally Posted by ADVANT123
Yeah, I have AA's stage II kit minus the 60-1/20g hybrid. If you wanted to replicate you'd need 1) HG kit to lower compression 2) 42lb injectors 3) 3.5" HFM and software..Originally Posted by BMWManiac
Will do, I'll need to drop by and snap some pics of the exhaust. Basically, its custom piping and a magnaflow resonator + magnaflow exhaust....Originally Posted by jonsibal

Doctor Dave..you'd better be there for a track day...you'll definately throw down some nice times...I would like to run the M6 versus your car...but you have a fat diff and very little weight...you'll more than likely roast me...oh well...I still think I can take Andrew out....nothing like a bit of friendly competition, eh tribesman?
Glad to see stuff is finally rolling with her...and i'm glad to see you junked that exhaust...you could hear the restriction...
Oh, and regarding the rich spot...crank boost up...that should help rectify the issue...lol...i'm a brilliant solution provider, aren't i? lol...
Nice
If the tuning is done, I'll be there!Originally Posted by card counter

Way to go Dave! I was just thinking yesterday, 'wheres dave been'. musthave heard me Thats a real nice result for an off the shelf chip. Your little yellow bee must really wail now. you owe me a ride.. now dont remind me how after the last time I drove it, it started falling apart.. I had nuttin to do with it!
Now, rms fans can look at that plot and make one claim to fame: note how from 6300 to 6500 rpms, the sc plot pulls ahead...LOL. Oh, thats where the turbo plot negative spike occurrs? yea, well.. whatever...

It was brutally hot yesterday. Those are almost identical conditions to what my dyno read at Nick's in Fla a year ago. Come back again with the same setup when its 50 degrees out, and watch those numbers increase an easy 10 - 15 units just from performing better in the cooler conditions.
Im happy for you...

The temp. was floating between 95-100 all day yesturday, humid too, and that was without cars running either.

So I guess that news spreads quickly in this community, even by word of mouth...Originally Posted by DakarDave
I'd strongly consider bringing it out...though I'd definately be torn...I'd really want to take my M6 out there once it's tuned, especially given the fact that it will be in its prime, everything fresh, it's pretty darn gutted right now, and the fact that it has Yokohama A032R soft compound rubber on it right now on lightweight BBS 16" wheels...even though those tires aren't DRs, with enough pressure taken out of them, they should stick better than a street radial, and the car is definately in more general shape to go for a quick track blast before its interior and exterior work is done, which would then make me far more reluctant to take it out to the strip...
And as far as the numbers go...yeah, it was something like 99 and nearly 100 percent humidity...absolutely horrid numbers...and it definately gets hotter inside a dyno room...so yeah, Mr. Dave, I'd safely say that you have bigger things ahead of you...
8-13... Date to mark. Congrats Dave, should be fun feeling all that torque

Please tell me you're not satisfied with a/f approaching 13:1 above 6500rpm on this car.
The slight drop in boost is not surprising on an inertia dyno. You might see different results on a true load bearing dynamometer. Of course, this may also expose more of the fueling issue at high rpm... I hope that's not your final "tune".
this is a baseline.. BEFORE a tuning session... obviously tuning still needs to be done!Originally Posted by spooltime
