Do me a favor... can you weigh the LTW battery case? Wondering how much it weighs.

I'm sure it weighs more than my 'custom' aluminum mount that I made from angle stock from Home Depot for $6.75

its plenty of ooomph to get the car going for those not in super extreme climates like myself, in super cold situations i'm not sure how it would react but for my, my car never even sees freezing temps so i should be fine. but theres only one way to find out .

as a side note, I think I will swap over all my interior dome lights to LED based (just simple bright white, not ricey colors or anything) b/c they use so much less current and with this LTW battery i will need to conserve as much as I can. The stock dome lamps use like 0.36 amps and LED only uses 0.04 so if you change over all your lights they all would be less than one of the old incandescent style bulbs, just a thought.
Cool, thanks.... hope you never get stuck on the road and never use anything electronic (got an electrical fan or mechanical? this thing only has 280CCA's. Might not matter in TX though. To everyone else: BE CAREFUL, you don't want to be stranded anywhere.

let the car sit for like 30-45 min with the hazards on and see if it will still start

I had a stinger dry cell battery that was half the size of my current one and it wouldn't start my car after 30-45 min with the hazards on...might want to be careful

36" of aluminum angle bar (L shaped)
1 set of battery hold down posts from VatoZone ($5.99) with the 'L' shaped end

Cut 2 13.5" sections of the aluminum. Double it up and mark the holes for the battery tie down posts.

Then, cut out a section of the aluminum so it fits tightly over the battery. I also added the remaining 9" of bar across the battery as a lateral brace. It fits perfectly across the battery opening forming a cross.

It was pretty easy to do and is holding the battery extremely tight. No movement at all.

You need a Home Depot sponser sticker on your BSP biatch.

from the older threads i've seen about these lightweight batteries, people recommend you also get a battery tender for those times where you don't start the car much.

also the CCA's is misleading because these batteries aren't tested the same as normal batteries in this regard.

Have a PC680 as well. My car will sit for over a week at a time sometimes and it fires up no problem. It'll even have enough juice to crank the engine over for 15 secs or so to prime the engine with oil if I do something like an oil change.

i have the pc680mj, however, I have to use a battery tender if I leave it unstarted for over a week. the voltage goes to 11.5 volts and the car won't start.

How do you prime the engine with oil. Pull the fuel fuse?
