    Sound deadening thread.

Can anyone recomend me a good CHEAP sound deadening? This isn't for audio, but I think this is where
    I'd get better responces at.

I just want my car to be alittle quiter.
    thanks.

Whatever I'm putting together a system for!
it's not necessarily cheap but Dynamat does an excellent job. For the performance it's well worth the price

Id suggest buying the Dynamat Xtreme Bulk-Pak. Look on eBay. After shipping you're looking at about $115-$125. That will supply you with plenty of Dynamat. I'd throw in a few cans of DynaShield as well, those are like $15 each plus S/H.

Screw dynamat. It is a COMPLETE waste of money. If you want a truely "superior" sound deadener get secondskin. It is cheaper than dynamat but more expensive than pretty much everything else.
I personally would get edead just because it is the cheapest. Edead is pretty much identical to dynamat, but its a fraction of the price. If you are going to buy it use this link for 20% off. http://www.edesignaudio.com/forum_discount.htm BTW, edead, raamat, and fatmat are all the same. They are made by the same roofing supply company so there really is no difference. Just go with whichever is cheapest.

ive used edead, peel n seal, second skin, instaled some extreme. before. they all work well. Id use second skin being the best. Peel n Seal is the cheapest, and multiple layers can be used for the amount u get compared to others. Dynamat extreme is great, but expensive. Edead is the all around best deal IMO.

    Cheapest Sound Deadening

The real secret is to get the stuff from JC Whitney. They sell both Accumat for way below other's prices and if you look hard in their catalogue, you can find an "ashpalt based" sound deadener that is exactly the same as all the others, but it comes without a fancy logo and has a light blue peeloff backing. This stuff is a fraction of the price and comes in a big roll. Good luck.

brownbread and cascade are both good too.

cascade sells a spray on style that is on sale at partsexpress this month (according to the flyer I got) that may suit your application

Further in the car, inside. Over the shock towers, along the fenders/wheel wells. In the doors/quarters (really help), under the carpet. Basically any metal that is both inside and outside of the car

I/m with Kingrye and The Muchacho on Peal n Seal. For the money you can lay lots of layers and get very good results. Make sure you prep the surface and don't lay in on lots of oil or debris.

    Any non-asphalt?

I did it in an earlier car and in Texas heat, it tends to smell like a fresh paved road.
