8 Series (E31) (1991 - 1997) As the last E24 rolled off the production line in 1989, its replacement was quick on its heels to fulfill the fantasies of those looking for a touring coupe with all of the luxury, performance, and prestige of a BMW, only now with both 8 and 12 cylinder engines.

Very good write up in 'bimmer' mag

I just got the June '02 issue of "Bimmer" and thought they did a nice job of summing up the carreer of the 8 series. Gives the history of the car and lots of info. Anyone else check it out?
Nick
P.S. the 850 is one of the sexiest cars on the road! Too bad there was no official M8 produced for the People :

850Csi comes close, but yeah, an M8.... jesus....

Salivating at the very thought (even after all these years.)

Love the 8, keesp me up late nights wondering if 325/328 DOHC heads will fit, and how to plumb one side's exhaust over the block... and where to get a fordged 12-cyl crank machined out of billet...

Maybe I should find my 8 first?

Best!
Ben.
