Well, here are my final Dyno Runs and Time Slips for the year on the stock S52 Motor. I couldn't best last weekends 11.11 this Saturday but I sure as hell tried, over 14 passes. Since this Turbo went on it has made well over 50 1/4 Mile passes, most at 20PSI+. It's also seen about 300ish street miles.
Someone in the know please update BoostJunky, Here, and the Z3 Forum with my times.
Here is the short list

Did a compression test on the motor and its 150,150,100,125,115,150. I'm pretty sure it's just the headgasket as I'd make passes and the block temp sensor would heat up, but the radiator sensor showed a lower temp. Plug #3 also had a light bit of rust speckle on the skirt as well. That had almost no effect on my runs though because they were fairly consistent.
I'll keep everyone posted as to how the internals look with pics when I pull this motor apart to inspect it. My guess is our rods are ALOT stronger than people credit them for.
On to the pics:

Shawn, Congrats on a great run this year with the stock motor! You look to be as consistant as me on times this past weekend, just a whole lot faster
I can't wait to see whats to come next year.
Rather than have you ship a bunch of stuff, I may just bring a truck down to pick up all that stuff I got from you and get the race pipe too.

Nice numbers. What turbo are you running? Sorry if I missed it if you posted details before.
-Joe
Shawn running the basic T3/T40E 60 trim .82 a/r turbine/.60 a/r if Im not mistaken incredible numbers. He posted the turbo description under his post dyno.
Anyway congrats Shawn and hopefully it was just the head gasket that went leaving the internals intact. That would be good to know that the stock internals can hold up if that is the case.
If you dont mind when you pull it down pictures of the pistons and rings. Rods too.

ok, I just updated the www.boostjunky.com site. Lotsa additions and updates, plus we have 14 memmbers now in the CLUB 500.
Hope to see your car running again and let see some 9s! You are second only to Gene Liu for the fastest 1/4 mile in the US.
man you must have some serious traction issues with that beast. keep up the good work.

Very Impressive Shawn.. keep up the good work!
0-100 in 7 secs is unbelievably fast.
Congrats, and good luck with the motor. All of us with stock internals are wondering how it's held up.
nice! Man I wish the e36's could run the amount of rubber you guys can
Wheels in Sig are SSR GT3's 19" E46 M3 fitment. Dinan E46 M3 Suspension. Pic thanks to Kyle K.
Do you think your turbo is dying since it can't hold boost after it fully spools? I'd think a T04E 60 trim could do that on a 3.2L engine, or at least hold your peak boost for longer than a few hundred RPM.
Or do you think it's a boost controller issue?
Thanks Jon for the site update.
Yes, I think I just flat sucked the Turbo dry. The boost controller was a manual dual stage that I've run 25PSI on all day long on a WRX so I'm pretty sure is was all good.
Tial Wastegate with the internals for Race gas or Methanol . So I honestly think it just choked out.
I've got the tranny and drive train out last night. The motor is probably comming out tonight but won't be cracked open for a while probably. No water in the oil or oil in the water. No other signs of damage. I've got sooo much heatshielding on the manifold that I'll have to wait to get it out to pull the heat wrap and look at it to see how it held up, pretty sure I had a leak there.

Shawn, what size TIAL Wastegate are you running and what size spring?
10.6 in 2001 was a good achievement. Well done to Gene Liu, still King of the USA after all these years.Originally Posted by jonsibal

Impressive numbers.... Try getting a larger turbine AR and see how the turbo reacts. Did u ever measure the back pressure? Im sure its pretty high and thats why you are dropping 7psi after peak boost. Larger AR on the turbine size should reduce the back pressure hence allow you to hold more boost for a longer time. U might spool 300 RPM later if u went with a larger AR which is still not bad.
