List up a mod list / what you've done to the car
It's a 1991 delphin grey metallic sedan.
199xxx miles on the chassis, 270xxx miles on the motor.
Jim C chip, DEC high-flow cat, Brullen cat-back.
All major maitenance has been done :
Front control arms
Front control arm bushings (E30 M3 offset)
Tie-rod ends
Rear subframe bushings
Rear trailing arm bushings
Bilstein sports
IE stage 3 springs
Timing belt
Water pump, fan clutch
Engine front and rear main seals
Transmission front and rear main seals
Rebuilt driveshaft
Goodridge SS brake lines
ATE power-slot rotors / Mintex pads
Redline fluids in the tranny and diff
Full Z3 shifter rebuild
Replaced 2 AC hoses
Rebuilt wheel front bearings
iS front lip (courtesy of some very awesome E30 friends for my birthday)
U.S. ellipsoid conversion
E30 M3 rare sway bar
GC urethane RSM's (blew 2 set of E46 M3 mounts because of the crappy roads here in Los Angeles)
Stereo :
Sony X-plod head unit (due to be changed out soon)
MB Quart 5.25" front components
MB Quart 6 x 9" rear channels
Alpine V12 4 channel amp
Precision Power mono amp
Cerwin Vega HED 12" subwoofer
The car is also receiving a respray as soon as my parents find their E39. The paint on the roof and trunk is really bad.
The E30 drive's like a dream except for a damn exhaust rattle and the fact that it's a sedan...
Maybe Mtech 2 in the near future?
I'm itching to get an E36 M3.. But I don't think being a college student with 2 cars is a smart thing to do.. And I really don't see the future without my E30.
Price tag? I would say around $2500. High miles albeit all the major maitenance has been done. The motor runs as strong as my brother's rebuilt M20 (130xxx miles.

1990 325is
bought with 118K miles and for $3500.
Sold 16" wheels&tires on the car for $475 (Could have gotten $600 but didn't take the offer......)
Had camber plates, GC coil-over, Dinan Chip, Alpine CD/Infinity Speakers, ABS sensor missing.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../DSCF10882.jpg
Since buying it, I have:
Performance
15x7 ET30 Borbet Type C's
205/55-15 Yokohoma ES100's
Sparco Strut Brace, installed finally
M30 AFM
M30 Injectors (19lb)
ICE
Newer Alpine CD Player (upgrade from the older one I had, got from sister's totalled car)
Cosmetics:
Friend gave it a full detail, including buffing and claybar!
Changed rear springs to taller ones to lose saggy look
Euro plate filler (Installed and sprayed black)
Blacked-out kidney - (Done)
Smoked turn signals - (Installed)
Euro Ellips - (Installed, non-smiley)
Oscram H1's (from Germany) in Low beams
Euro License Plate
Replaced broken foglight.
Other parts I forgot earlier:
Aluminum control arms w/ Derlin E30 M3 offset bushings (RTRS I think)
Koni Single Adjustables
Timing belt - done at 121K, along with replace of head w/ broken rocker arm for one that was rebuilt 40K ago....
Just did last weekend: E36 Leather ebrake handle + Leather ebrake boot.
126K miles now......
I'm going to guess maybe invested $6K ? (possibly $7K) in the car.
And it *might* be worth $4K.....if I could find a seller for that much. (If I found someone who knew what it had - GCs, etc.)
With $1000-2000 going to dropped into the next year (mostly spring/summer), the value might go up a tad, but mostly it is just becoming a money pit. (Maybe $3K, who knows) - more suspension goodies, 3.91 or 4.10 diff, seats maybe, brakes, etc.
At the end of next summer, I'll have a $10K car worth maybe $5K.......(maybe)
Montego/Saddle E91 328i xDrive - Estoril/Cloth Blue M3/4/5 - LeMons 325e - Artic/Black 1998 540iA (shell, for sale or donation towards LeMons)
18.5-20K as it sits.
So funny...2.5k around there...In Utah, the cheapest 325i I can find is 2.5k...and its a piece of shit. Cest la vie. Hopefully in a couple days you'll be talking to the brand new owner of a $2500 piece of shit. In RED!
Bastard Matt (MR 325) got that black 325i for $1500!!!!!!!!!!!
(and possibly some sexual factors......he denies it, but we know better)

Mine is rust free, in Duluth MN. Go figure.
It has tons of minor problems, including no clearcoat covering the ugly Polaris Metallic paint. 240k miles, practically every major part is original.
Leather sport seats.
It also has every option I have ever seen on an '85, though the stereo is gone.
Runs like new practically all the time, very well maintained. I paid $266 for it; all I have changed is the tires, alternator, seats, timing belt, and water pump.
I'd guess I could sell it for about $1000 locally, but I am not willing to sell it for less than the cost of an e30 M3.
I really like my car.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1)
in this market, my car is not worth enough that I could sell it and replace it with any other car that would equal its performance and fun factor. what a great arguement for keeping my car!
91 318is, the exact color I want, sterling on black, 82K miles, all books and records, all expensive maintenance done (profile gasket, etc), springs, shocks, short shifter, minor audio, muffler, and a set of autocross rubber

More bling.
I also race it from time to time. Awaiting Beer Tech sponsorship.
1984 325e:500$, just cause it runs
1991 325iC:
Plastic bumper conversion
H&R
Tokico (in the trash as soon as my next 2 paychecks come)

LOL..
considering the other day a dork at a race meet thought my car was from '95, I'm pretty sure I could sucker some poor bastard into $15k... lol.. in fact, next time someone asks me if I'm selling my car, I'll tell em $15k, and if they buy it, i'll buy another E30 and use all the leftover to fix it up rotflmcao.

and jon, i know its not a pissing match. but sometimes people think they can get an assload of money out of their e30, when in reality no one is gonna pay that much for it unless it is an e30 m3 or something.

I got mine for 1400 with shot suspension, ball joints and tie rod ends.
After I took care of that, its been magnificent. I love my little car
1989 Cab (originally Alpine White)
-3.0L stroker w/ a host of other engine mods
-Original M-Tech II bodykit
-Assorted RD items including 16" wheels, exhaust, strut bar, pedals, etc.
-Diamantschwarz respray
-many, many others that would take too long to list....anyhow, I've forgotten some of them I'm sure
No plans to ever sell it, and I'm quite realistic that if I ever did I would not recover half of what I spent so far.......anyhow, it is still not finished
But to answer your question, it is worth alot..............................to me

I don't have an E30 at this time but considering I bought my 91 318is in 02 for 2700 and sold it in 03 for 4000 in basically the same condition I bought it I think there's a lot of sentimental value in these cars. One thing I know is when I get my next 91 318is it will be priceless.
