Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?

Thanks for posting. That's not going to sit well with some MB folks.

I am starting to get used to the looks of the new 5 series. The performance of all those cars is awesome. Too bad the new M5 is gonna be overpriced even without the dealer markup.

I agree on the asthetics, in print, the new 5 looks odd(read:pontiac). In person, they look hot. It's got booty!

Does BMW plan on doing anything to the M5, since Mercedes-Benz has the new E65 in talks?

I can't believe those brakes are inadequate (in their opinion)? Wow.
I've ordered pizzas smaller than those rotors.

You know, I never throught the look of the new 5 series would grow on me, and I'm still not a big fan of the mundane 5ers, but the M5 looks sexier every day. Definitely decent enough for the sheer performance to make up for any aestetic misgivings. And I like how the gist of this article is that the M5 pretty much walks all over MB and Maserati - makes me want to be a BMW owner.

Now all we need is the Dinan S2 E60 package ...
Just double the torque and add another 100 hp, beef up the tranny, and put some proper brakes on it ...

    [X]65 AMG Killer anyone?

Yeah in public they dont look so bad, but now this settles it, the new m5 can beat the e55.

yea no doubt about the M5 being the best out of the 3. the new 5 series design is liveable, although the e39 design was priceless.

    That's UK Autocar magazine.

I'm starting a fund to help me buy an M5. If you'd like to contribute, let me know.

That's insane. I'd kill for one of those... hell an E39 would be good enough. God, the E60 must be crazy.

The e60 is def. growing on me as well. I saw a 530i sport and I think it looked good altogether. I still have issues with its butt.
