    My 328i was stolen!!!

Well, I was to pick my Bimmer up from my mechanic's shop but it wasn't there in his shop's parking lot. I called him and he told me he left it for me and went to dinner and when he returned it was gone and so he thought I picked it up.
    I didn't!!!
We filed a "Stolen Vehicle" report with the Police.
    Will keep you posted!

Or get a cheap cell phone with tracking software that can be left in the car.

Good luck finding the car. In Cali its either getting a joy ride, or chopped up

The idea has been around for a while and now phones are cheaper and so are the planes. Use an inexpensive android phone (doesn't require data plan) and put tracking software on it (dozens to choose from). Funny you asked because I just started looking. Personally I'm using Platinumtel phone service which is pretty much the cheapest in the US, $40 unlimited everything plans OR pay-go which is as cheap as $5/month (payed as $10/bi-month, or you can pay for the year $100). They also allow you to use your own phone as long as it does the frequencies they use. I didn't find the ideal app or phone but this app seemed good and only has a small one time fee and doesn't require that the phone have a data plan (even though a ptel phone would have data) but with ptel the phone has to have 1700/2100MHz for the data plan to work. But any GSM phone with android would work with Ptel but wouldn't have data (if it didn't have those two frequencies).

    Potential app:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...droid.cerberus

    Potential phone:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Unlocked-Cheap-3G-Cell-Phone-A-GPS-FM-Bluetooth-Android-2-1-AT-T-T-mobile-New-/160950800310

But that app wants android OS 2.3.3 or newer and that phone doesn't have that, but there might be a newer OS that can be installed on it.

Apple computeres have the same tracking software available. Cool program...once located it can use the web cam built into the computer to take a pic of the person using it if it has a web cam.

All cell phones have GPS locators built into them these days. Its used by 911 personel if its turned on. You might not even need an ap. but you'll need to keep it charged

Did you do an EWS delete or did your friendly mech. leave the keys in the car (in visor or floorboard)
    Just curious.

Mechanic left the key under the seat but locked the car. I just paid $65 for that key at the dealer too.

How did he lock it with the key inside? I can't lock my drivers door without the key or remote.

Gave away my BMWs, driving a VW and an Audi now.

On a 4 door? Piece of cake. Open the back door, hit the lock button on the console and shut the rear door. Done.

96 on I think ... not sure. You can still do the same by pushing the door pin on your driver's door and shutting the rear door.

One of the worst feelings is having the thing you sweated, bled, and cried for taken from you. Good luck getting it back.

That made the job a lot easier for whoever broke into the vehicle.

Use a small plastic wedge or one of those flat inflatable airbags to open a gap between the door frame and the car. Long length of coat hanger wire or similar can then be used to push the unlock button or hook the door handle inside. Perp finds ignition key and drives off. Common practice for lockouts or other situations when I was a dealership employee. I've seen this happen before at service shops, but usually the initial motivation is to loot the car.

Yep and I think they look good, they're Taiwanese though. Got them with a HID kit, and fogs for $160.
