I have a friend who's cousin is an attorney for BMWNA. There is a possibility that I get to go with him and his cousin on a BMW "V.I.P" package (pit tours, meet drivers, winners circle etc...).
I have a friend in Montreal so if it doesn't work out then I'll buy my own tickets. I'm wondering which section to get seats in? They have already sold out a few sections.
Here is the track layout.
Thanks for any info.

VIP package? heheh..can you added a couple more people to taht?
I'm gonna be there with my brother and another friend. We got grandstand 11 seats. I wouldn't get grandstand 33. I had grandstand 33 seats last year, didn't think it was all that good. From the pics on the site, it looks like grandstand 12 might be a good place. But not sure why 11 is sold out before 12.

Hehe, if his cousin is just doling out passes I'll try to hook you up. I hope it works out but I'm going in either case.
What didn't you like about 33?
I was thinking 33/34 or 24/22. But 12 looks pretty good.
Got any ideas about 1,2,3 or 10?
Hopefully, I'll get the hookup. /e prays to the F1 gods.

I didn't like 33 cause the amount of time I see the car were too short. I couldn't see them coming down to the turn like the pic showed. I just see the cars turn and off they go. I want to see the cars more.
1,2,3 are gonna be good but expensive. I didn't walk around 1-3, 10-12 sections of that track...should have last year. The hairpin would be a good place to sit.
I really hope you can get 3 extra passes

I was in No. 3 in 2001. the corner was cool but I would have liked to see them go farther own the straight.
It wasn't our first choice - strangely, the best seats are not really the most expensive there.

I went two years ago and sat in the gucci pavilion, about 10ft directly in front of the pit row exit. After walking around the track though, I agree with others that cheaper seats are better, actually. Montreal is a fun city, especially during GP week. We stayed here, which was very close to the track.

Go for 12. You get to see the cars for the majority of the race. Imagine if you are sitting on the far right side (closest to you sitting at your computer) of 33, you will barely see the cars at all.
Well guys, sorry to dissapoint but we only ended up with 2 Bronze passes (for free). We ended up buying a set of 3 silver's since they may be better seats, we'll see (grandstand 12).
I'm holding out hope thet the pit tours etc.. still happen since we have a BMWNA attorney with us
If not (or even if so), anyone fro BF.c post here and let's pick a place in Montreal to toast a beer or 6 or 11 (I hear montreal is a great city).
EDIT: I'll Be tere Thursday-Tuesday. Bring it!

I will be there...
It`s about a 2 minute drive from my place!
I had grand stand 33 last year and took went for grand stand 11 this year, like a previous poster. It was a great move. Definitely get to see more. The corner is a lot more fun and you get to see Ferrari beat BMW during pitting, etc (anyone recall last years upset?! ).
Anyway, about the only drawback to grand stands 11 and 12 was how far away they were from the entrance. By the way, as soon as the race ended we ended up lifting the fence and running up onto the track to see the podium, etc.
I think next year I'm going to go for the same grandstand again. Well worth it.
Anyway... it was an interesting race; Ralphie was catching up quickly to his big brother ever lap he gained seconds on him... oh well. Too bad BMW got disqualified, I actually found out about that today... no 2nd place.

ya, no kidding... the seats were SO FAR from the entrance, it is quite a hike to get to the seats and back to the metro. but other than that, the seats were pretty nice. i ran to the podium and caught the end of the cermony as rb and ms were walking off.Originally Posted by ///3oris

Yeah, I guess my friends were looking at a picture backwards or sideways or something when painting that crap on. This was done about 15 mins before the race. Found some guy who was doing the whole Braveheart thing and asked him for some paint. Looks kind of stupid now that I look at it, but at the time... well, you know how you can get carried away
