    E46 Gloss Black B-Pillar Covers

Hey guys, I'm reviewing some B pillar covers that I've been eying online for a while. Finally took a chance and ordered them last week and they arrived yesterday, installed today. Aside from the installation, these things are a true wonder. It makes the front and back windows look all uniform and glassy from front to back and I'm 100% satisfied with them. The installation was okay, I had to figure out which cover went where (they aren't marked) but they are differently sized so you can make sure before you remove the sticky layer off. I'm pretty sure the glue is 3M because it's super sticky, I made a mistake halfway through applying one cover and it was a hastle to remove it and adjust it so you gotta make sure you have it on right the first time.

6 pieces total, 30 minutes of your time, and now for some pictures:

They are hard and durable and look much better than the shadow line matte look from before. I think they also come in CF too. I got them on sale (under $40) and I usually take chances with low prices but these are worth it.

The manufacturer is a top rated seller on eBay, PillarCovers. It comes with a 3 year warranty too, the link to the actual covers is here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/99-05-BMW-3-series-BLACK-B-Pillar-covers-E46-ss-post-window-trim-glossy-piano-/230690761480?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item35b63dab08&vxp=mtr

EDIT: If the links above don't work, you can search eBay for "99-05 BMW 3-series BLACK B-Pillar covers E46 ss post window trim glossy piano".

    Thanks for checking it out.

You sir are awesome. EBay pioneering I can't see the pics on this mobile app. I will take a look as soon as I can. Zhp look here I come! (Hopefully)

I don't own/ have never seen a ZHP in person. ZHP owners chime in. Is this close without looking tacky?

    Looks awesome!

If I had a sedan, I'd most certainly buy a set .. but with a coupe, I don't have that problem.

Now you have to make the rubber around the rest of the door/windows look better/shiny.

Let us know how they hold up to surface scratching i.e. wash the car and swirls appear in bright light.

haha. weird. I was recently thinking about buying the pillar covers myself, and decided not to, until I figured out what I was gonna do about the rest of the crappy looking trim

Looks good. For now. Regardless what the seller says about the longevity, I have my doubts. Then again, I've been wrong before, so who knows...

Not necessarily something I'd put on my car, though. I like the matte finish better.

Eh, it doesn't always mean it's going to be horrible.

I've had my ebay trunk lip spoiler for a while now and it's holding up beautifully ... and it was only like 15 dollars shipped and it was already pre-painted.

I'll let you know after the next wash

This isn't a thin vinyl that you can wrap your trim with, it's a bit thick in the matter that it doesn't bend, similar to the thickness of a thin cardboard. My guess is that it will scratch just like any other part of the car but as always, dry with cotton and microfiber and you won't have to worry about that.

Mate! Every single time, and I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME, I look at my car and open the door, these dodgy cheap Hyundai matt looking pillars annoy the crap out of me. I've been dying for a set of these!!!

    Nice.
I was wondering how I was going to replace my stock pillars. The oem shadowline seems to be easily scratched and there's really no way to repair it.

I've been concerned about this myself, I was wondering if Forever Black would work on the pillars.

Gave away my BMWs, driving a VW and an Audi now.

I originally thought about doing this exact same thing but it won't end well (peeling, flaking paint ect.) so I went with the covers, much easier to apply and so far they aren't showing any scratches.

Sorry the camera can't really focus on it, it's like a mirror. But like I said, a thin, heavy duty cardboard that no one will notice

Okay... Might look different in person, but to me, those do not look good at all.

But, as long as you are happy, that's all that matters.

I think I might try paint, I've got a touch-up gun and some black lacquer and clear. Just have to mask very very carefully.

That was my mistake, I applied it wrong and left it because if I tried removing it, I would've damaged/bent the cover, so I left it. You have to be perfect when putting it on as the adhesive is permanent.

    Update.

After 2 washes, they still look like I just put them on. As long as you use a microfiber mitt or cloth, you shouldn't see any scratches unless you or someone else was careless with a key chain or finger rings. They're still on sale if you guys still want to catch them. I made a habit by now to touch the top of the window trim or the inner door panel when closing/opening my door to keep the covers free from finger prints
